Cannot really get tv channels, but the Roku is an easy connect and so is your phone. Clear quality. Using HDMI you’ll need to turn the volume up, but you won’t be disappointed. The monster portable tv is impressive, it can really work with a fire stick and it does pick up Channels with the included antenna. The Velcro bag attached is also a great way not to lose your cables and remotes. Screen size is great, heavy box body actually helps protect it as it takes a really heavy wallop to drop it. Then there is the speaker, the volume doesn’t go as high as you would think for a speaker, and the picture on the TV can be a bit hard to see clearly depending on the sunlight. Not Monster’s best design, but it works….the volume knob can spin forever in any direction, but volume only goes so high. But, as this is the only device to have both a big portable screen and a speaker, you have to appreciate what it does do well. I use it mostly for football games. I got one whole game and the 1st quarter of a second game on a single battery charge before it alerted low power. You will not get a whole day with this for video on battery only, but you will get a game or a movie. If you’re ok with that, then this will be great. If you want something for all day use away from a power source, then you’ll need to charge it again or possibly buy a portable power bank to charge it on the go. 07/09/2024- It is heavy at about 20 lbs but the battery lasts 8 hours easily. I assume the internal batteries are responsible for the weight but this is as expected. It is a very nice portable TV and when combined with a fire stick is great for using on the terrace. The sound volume is somewhat limited as others have said but not an issue for me. The screen image is bright and clear. Mine has a defect in the image - fixed horizontal line across the lower quarter of the screen and ghosting of the upper screen image on the lower screen. I'm in contact with service and so far they have been very responsive (Tess) and I will update this review depending on how they help me. Likely a defective unit that I bought in March, 4 months ago - will see if they replace it and update you on progress. 07/23/2024 Update - The company rep couldn't have been nicer and they are shipping my Monster TV back for servicing or replacement. They paid the shipping cost too. This company really stands behind this product - which is a great product in my opinion - and I will post a further update when my issue is settled. 08/15/2024 Update - The Monster company shipped me a new replacement unit. It works just as it should. What a great company that really stands behind their products. And it's really a great product. Mated to a fire stick this gives a great picture and I can watch TV including live TV outside on the terrace. The battery lasts 8-12 hours of normal use. I love it and have recommended it to several friends who have all ordered one. Buy one and you won't regret it. My highest recommendation and thank you to a great customer oriented company. TV is fine; sound is bad!! Not loud enough and has a noise louder than the tv volume. Even if you add a speaker it doesn’t help. Read more
