It uses a circular locking mechanism to secure the mount plate to the stand, but then VHB (double sided sticky tape) to secure the mounting plate to the back of whatever tablet or display you're using. Removing this from the tablet may render this mounting plate trash if you break it while trying to peel it off, so choose which tablet this will be mounted to wisely.
