Moroccanoil Everlasting Curl Titanium Curling Iron

I needed to buy a new curling iron and I went through and returned 3 irons including the T3 ceramic iron. They wouldn’t hold a curl on my fine, wavy hair. But this curling iron, which is titanium, works very well. I just have to not turn the heat too high. The curl, which does relax, will last 2-3 days. Sometimes a light touch up is needed. It's been years since I've bothered to curl my hair with a curling iron because in the past I just haven't been able to either get the curls to stay and it took way too much time. I'd been using a straightening iron to make curls, but I wasn't thrilled with the curls I got with that method. This curling iron by Moroccanoil has totally changed my hair game! The wand itself is beautiful and well made. It has a swivel cord which makes for ease of use when curling and the cord is 9 ft long which is so useful. The cord has a velcro attachment to keep the cord wrapped when you're done using it or if you don't need all 9' of cord then you can wrap up the excess to keep it out of your way. It also comes with a heat-resistant pouch for easy storage. It's a tight fit but you can get the iron and cord in the pouch. The display is digital and easy to read, and the buttons for turning the iron on or adjusting the temperature require a firm press and are recessed into the handle, so it would be difficult to accidentally hit them. I've used a flat iron before where the buttons were so easy to push that I would often turn it off accidentally and not notice, so I really like the button setup on this iron. It says that the iron has a 1 hour shut-off feature which I thankfully cannot attest to because I haven't forgotten to turn it off but I like knowing that if I would forget to turn the wand off that it has that feature. The curling iron heats up very quickly - it says in 60 seconds and although I haven't timed it I fully believe that. I'm used to having to turn a hair tool on and do something else for a few minutes while I wait for it to heat up, but I basically just turn this curling iron on and it's ready to go. The iron has an extra-long barrel so it's easy to curl larger sections of lengths of hair quickly. I've been using this curling iron on a much lower heat setting than I have used before (even lower than I have for straightening). I only have to hold it in each section of hair for a few seconds and I get amazing curls that stay all day. This is the best hair tool I've used, I'm so happy with the ease of use and results. It is on the higher end price range for a hair tool; however, I believe in investing in quality pieces that will last you a long time and provide great results. Read more

I was skeptical when I ordered this, I mean what makes a curling iron warrant shelling out $150? But this thing is great! Aside from being very pretty, it's so much sturdier than other drug store curling irons, it has a heft (though not heavy) that makes it feel expensive and the handle is much longer than less expensive curling irons and the cord, oh my gosh, finally a decent length cord at 9 ft that is also a heavy duty cord so you're way less likely to melt it down to dangerous levels like I tend to do when I inadvertantly set my curling iron down too close to the cord. I also love that the cord is on a swivel base that actually swivels far more smoothly than other curling irons I have purchased. Heat wise, no problems, you turn it on (you do have to press the power button for few seconds) and it heats quickly and evenly and you can easily adjust the digital control for whatever temp you need. I found I needed it to be less than 400 for my fine hair. The barrel is 1 inch on the one I received and that's fine for spiral curls on my short-ish bob. I should also mention that if you are giving this as a gift it comes boxed beautifully in a very sturdy, sleeved box that would make a very nice presentation and you immediately can tell it's a quality item just from the box alone.
