I am taking up mountain biking again after shoulder replacement surgery and was scared to death of going over the handlebars and destroying the shoulder. I am 65 and don't heal as well anymore. I had something like this when I rode quads years ago and remembered it saved me a lot . So bought this and of course it got immediately "fall " tested. Not over the handlebars but a good ground strike nonetheless. My "non" surgery shoulder took the hit with all my 240# body and 60# bike. Did a number on my ribs ( side impact just compressed everything) but the shoulder and elbows survived. Well made with a removable gut belt and back protection.
