Quite useful and well made
I love this bottle. Each feature is useful and nothing is extraneous. WARNING: This a very detailed review. I got carried away. Some background: I am a full time college student working part time at an internship. I have been using this bottle at school, at work, at the gym, on the go, and at home for about 2 months now. I know this is a kids bottle but here are all the reasons why this bottle can work for you as an adult: 1. The bottle is translucent so you can easily gauge how much water is in it vs peering into the opening or guess-timating by weight. The markings on the side help track intake. Plus, although I love anything orange, it can be a bit too bright and obnoxious in certain settings. However, the bottle is tinted just enough that it's not screaming color at you like an eye sore. I was specifically hunting amazon for an orange bottle, this one of the few translucent monochromatic ones. 2. The button on the cap pops up the mouthpiece and is great for one handed drinking on the go, especially when driving. 3. The mouthpiece is satisfyingly chewy yet firm, reminiscent of a sippy cup sans toddler drool. Very similar to a Camelbak. The straw reaches nearly to the bottom of the bottle and the valve in the cap creates a closed system with just enough space to let out (or in? not an expert on bottle mechanics) air while drinking. Simply put, it is a noiseless experience. Since it is a straw, it has benefits; no tilting/tipping to drink, no forceful suction like rounded pop up/press down tops, and no excess water spilling from large openings. The cover for the rubber (? not sure of the material) mouthpiece is sanitary and clicks securely into place. Some other bottles with straws do not have covers, which is quite gross as it exposes the surface which comes into direct contact with the inside of your body. 4. The size is perfect for me. The width allows me to easily grip the sides (I have small hands), the length easily fits in my small purse/backpack so I carry it everywhere. The dimensions are slightly wider and shorter than a standard plastic water bottle. It is also lightweight and (it may not be very important to you but it is for me) unlike metal bottomed bottles, it does not clank when set on a hard surface (which is great for a quiet office environment). It is smaller than normal adult size bottles. If you are trying to meet water intake goals, this size can be a pro and a con. Pro: You will have to refill often. This can be motivating since you become more aware of when you drink. First thing when I get to work in the morning, I fill it at the water cooler, eat lunch, refill before I leave, drive to school, attend class, refill at the fountain, study at the library, go home, refill with a filtered water pitcher and use until the next morning. I never knew my water drinking habits until I got this bottle. Con: You will have to refill often. Which can be annoying since fountains with good water aren't always available. Bottles are meant to be portable storage for liquids. This does not carry a whole lot. If you are a gym junkie, stick to a gallon jug. 5. It is made of hard plastic and is quite durable. I have dropped it a couple times on linoleum, carpet, and wood and it will works and looks perfectly fine. The cap is made of a more durable material and can handle more pressure/wear and tear, but the container is a thinner smoother plastic. I would not recommend if you work outside or around concrete or in a steel floored workshop type area because it still is plastic and will scuff. Estimated usable 6. THE CARABINER. So so so useful when you cannot carry the bottle with your hands or a bag or hand it to someone else. Ex: Just hook it onto your belt temporarily while taking out multiple trash bags then unhook when your hands are free. This is also handy if you camp or hike. Otherwise, the carabiner seamlessly fits into the handle on the cap. Perfectly sloped to comfortably dangle from a finger. This is my first amazon review and I knew within the first week of using this bottle I would be writing a detailed product description for it. I highly recommend and hope your experience with it is as satisfactory as mine. Read more
