I've owned, loved and used knives my entire life. Knives are a functional tool to me and IMOP, there are 4 categories of knives. 1. Cheap junk like you might buy for a dollar or two at a gas station or parts store. 2. Inexpensive decent, you can get these at many places like cabelas or walmart. 3. Good but a bit pricey, likely found at places like cabelas or other outdoor outlets. 4. Overly expensive and more of a piece of art that you likely won't ever use due to its value (custom made) To me, the MTECH knives are a good, inexpensive knife. You likely aren't buying a premium blade but they will sharpen and do the trick just fine. The quality is decent and they will hold up just fine for the average user. These knives have some decent heft to them and feel sturdy. The action is a bit sub-par on many of these knives at this price point but you're getting what you paid for. These aren't what I'd consider crappy knives and yet they're not on the same level as Benchmade, Spyderco or even Buck for that matter but they are a good knife for the money. Read more

Over all I am very impressed with these knives doe the money. They aren't the sharpest out of the box nor the most refined. But for the price they are better than most I've handled in the range. We bought 4 of these as collectable gifts over EDC. Out of the 4, 2 hand very nice and smooth actions. 2 did not open as nicely and required oiling and working to get opening more smoothly. Finish is very nice with the artwork on the blade being etched not just printed like other knives I've seen. The aluminum handle scales are machined nicely, feel good in hand and look great. My only complaint would be it is a patriotic knife made in China... but at this price what do you expect? Read more
