They seem smaller than expected once you receive them, but measurements are provided. This is a sturdy and well-built item. There is a place for a padlock on each end. It would deter a would-be thief for a brief time. Children aren’t going to get into them if they’re locked. I like this material better than metal. It doesn't have sharp edges and is less likely to scratch up a floor if you scoot it across it. It is very stout for its size, and I found that I could get more ammo and gear in it than anticipated. This is a nice crate for ammo or other things you need to store, and potentially lock up. Quality components and latches make it very versatile, and it’s a good value for the cost. However, only thing that is a down side is if you want to lock this you would need TWO locks to full lock it as the lock mechanisms are not built through the latches. So if you lock one side, you can still raise the opposite side enough to see into it, and possibly remove some contents. That’s not good. Other than that it’s a great box. I've bought two of these now. The first one stored all my ammo, but when I ended up with too much of one I bought a second one to split it. I immediately went back on my list to find exactly what I ordered because I loved the first one so much. They close tightly, they snap closed. They easily stack on top of each other. They're extremely durable and hold a lot of weight. Simple to use. They hold more than they look like they would. I cannot say how waterproof they are, but I know my little water absorbent pouches have never had any signs of liquid. These are super functional and I cannot say enough good things about them.
