This worked great for my application. I was able to hardwire my dash cam with this kit with no issues at all. It had plenty of different sized fuses and fuse-taps and plenty of wire, and the kit feels good enough quality. It powers my dashcam and I've had no issues at all. Even the trim tool it came with works good. It was easy to install and the directions were clear, although I did watch a video about how to hardwire a dashcam before installing. Minus one star because there is no voltage cutoff selection switch for standby mode. It has cutoff at 11.6v and that is the only option. Many kits let you select between 11.6 and 12v for cutoff, because some vehicles won't start with only 11.6v left on the battery, especially in cold weather. It's summer right now, but I have had no issues with starting power yet in my car. Just something to be aware of, and that means this kit may not be suitable for everyone's vehicle. I needed extra wire because my original cable got accidentally cut while moving stuff in and out of the van. This kit gave me enough length to reroute the wiring under the van and away from the sides, where cables usually get damaged. Install was easy, power is stable, and everything works flawless. To start the installation was NOT easy. Instructions not very clear. I understand all cars are different so some confusion is to be expected. I am not faulting them BUT they could do a better job of getting more clear instructions out there. Once installed it functions great. I am able to use parking mode as designed by the dashcam told me it could before explaining it won't work off USB. The dashcam works as it was designed to without fault, video quality and power issues are perfect. The kits came with enough parts to work with my car and the tools needed to install. It would have been nice to include some zip ties and adhesive to control the wiring but I won't take off stars for that omission. A trip to the dollar star is necessary if you want it to all tuck in neatly. Read more

This kit was very easy to understand and install. I installed this in a Mazda 3 and had plenty of wiring included to reach from the passenger side to the driver side floor fuse panel. I think I had about 4 feet or so of cable to stow away near the fuse panel. Note the length if you have a large SUV. Fuses were included and a feature I like is that it also uses the original fuses you remove so there is no risk of using an incorrectly rated fuse to protect the component you piggy back on. The fuses are replaceable which is great. Some similar products have integrated fuses so if they blow, I presume you would need to replace the entire connection. Why did I need this kit? I have a camera running off of a usb plug in the car but this runs the battery down over time when the car is off and the camera is still active. This kit senses the battery voltage and turns off the camera when the car is not running once voltage drops too low. NOTHING is more annoying than your car not starting because the camera drained it. Hard wire is definitely the way to go. My first question when shopping for these hard wire kits was ....Why are some 3 wire and some 2 wire? The 3 wire allows you to utilize the parking security feature if the camera has this capability. This runs the camera when the car is off. The 2 wire only operates the camera when the car is on. Note the 3 wire can be used to run the camera only when the car is on, depending on how you hook it up, but the 2 wire can not run the security feature when the car is off. You will need a cheap DC voltage tester which typically just lights up when you touch a source for DC (aka battery) power with the metal pin side and ground the other end on the car frame. You will need this to determine which fuses have power when the car is off. You will also need to know which side of the fuse the power comes from. You can think of it as power going in one side of the fuse and out the other. Pull the fuse then test both sides with the probe to see which lights up. That is the power in side. The instructions clearly show how to orient the adapter relative to the power input side of the fuse slot. Other than that, just feed the wire discretely behind panels with the included tool to slightly lift / spread gaps. Its a relatively quick job. One word of caution.... IF you have front pillar air bags (it should note it on the pillar or in your manual), you MUST route the cable BEHIND THE AIRBAG. You do not want to interfere with the Airbag operation.
