I have developed a borderline obsession with keeping my cuticles trimmed and neat. When I saw this product description it gave me pause, considering if I could truly "buff away" what I was regularly trimming with cuticle scissors. I ordered this to try it out, and while I am impressed with the versatility of this tool... I think it is misleading to claim that this is an alternative to cutting cuticles. When I received this item it was conveniently time to redo my gel polish, so after removing my old mani I set to following the package directions - which state to use the smooth side of each interchangeable head towards the nail and the rough side away from the nail. The results were less than impressive for me. The bits that I would typically trim with scissors remained present and vastly unchanged other than being pushed back. The flat paddle was much too large to use on my fingernails, but the small paddle was too thick for the filing edge to even touch the cuticle while using the tool as instructed. I thought about the intended use, the instructions, and how my first trial of this turned out and figured I had to be missing something, so I did some additional research. First, I took a deep dive into some nail care anatomy. The fleshy part that we push back and then cut off is NOT the true cuticle...it is actually live skin, part of the eponychium BUT remains commonly referred to as the cuticle. The true cuticle is the dry crusty white bits that are stuck on the nail plate. I then sought out some videos to help clarify how to use this tool. I found an inventors spotlight interview, where the creator of this product indicates that the smooth side always goes towards the nail and the file side away from the nail, buffing away dead skin without damaging your mani- exactly what the package instructions state. However, I also found the "cuticle b gone tutorial # 2" video which shows using the smooth side to push back cuticle, then using the file side towards the nail to buff away dead skin cells (the true cuticle). Using the tool in this way certainly does work to remove the true cuticle. What I really like this tool for is the blade attachments which are used on the edged of the nail. I am using in the opposite direction than intended, using the file side towards my nail to help clean up and shape the edges (which I always have trouble getting a file close enough) and separate any skin that is growing over the nail edge. These little heads give the perfect angle to get right alongside the nail bed and get a nice clean edge. I then trim whatever excess skin I've separated with my cuticle scissors. I think the handle is great, with a substantial feel yet lightweight. The fully stainless steel construction make this simple to clean and sanitize. Even though I am enjoying this tool in my nail care regimen, I feel that it needs to be clear that this is not going to buff away your fleshy growth that you push back from your nail and typically cut off. Although it can buff away the true cuticle, it does not replace trimming of what I now know is actually the eponychium that we commonly refer to as the cuticle. I like this tool, truly, but only in addition to my cuticle scissors - not as a replacement. Read more
I was hoping this would be a true replacement for the multiple tools I usually use for cuticle removal/cleanup but no. I'm honestly not very impressed. It's just ok. I'm not a fan of the small pieces either, I know they'll get lost eventually. It's a bit pricey and under performs in my opinion. Read more

This tool has 4 attachments. The directions that are included on the package do not fully explain each attachment. I was able to find out what each piece was for on the product listing page. There is a wide filing head to do large nails and toes. A small one for smaller nails. And one left side and one right side for "more precision". I found that the right and left side options were unnecessary (in my opinion). The small file head gets to the same "precision" as those left and right heads. I think leaving those two attachments out of the package would reduce the cost (slightly) - hence the removal of one star. I also wish it came with a small bag or some way to keep all the pieces together. Once you take it out of the package, two attachments fit on the handle, but the other two are just loose. With that said, the small filing head works really well! I had some rough cuticles and this smoothed them right down. I had a hang nail on one finger and again, this smoothed it right off without having to get out the clippers. I'm very happy with how this works. It is a very fine grit metal sanding tool that buffs away loose skin. Read more

I thought this would actually remove my cuticles but nah, nothing happened. Maybe I'm using it wrong but the only thing that happened was a buffed some dead skin. Read more
It works but almost like a cuticle pusher, although it does actually cut it off. However, it wont remove the eponychium which I still prefer to use my efile to remove since I keep it regularly maintained. Im skilled at nails but if you arent this is going to be a great little tool for you for basic manis. I love the clean russian manicure and this isnt going to give you that but it will give you a smooth enough base for some polish. Some of the heads are pretty sharp so be careful but you should always be careful with these tools. All in all I will keep using it because it's better than a pusher but its not going to be an all in 1 if you like a very clean mani. Read more
