I've been looking for some clippers for quite a while for my Chihuahuas long nails. She does not like having her nails trimmed at all, so I look for the quickest and most painless way to do that for her. She has really thick nails to be such a small dog, so it's hard to find something that will clip her nails without catching on it. As I was looking on Amazon, I came across these clippers and I was impressed that they opened up wider than normal clippers. Which would allow me to clip her thick nails without scaring her and catching her nails in the clipper. They were delivered today and I have to say I'm very impressed with the quality of these clippers. They come in a very nice little pouch made of high quality material. There is also a very useful Emery board that comes along with it in the pouch. The clippers themselves feel very good in your fingers and they feel like that you won't have to squeeze very hard to get the nail to cut. I haven't tried them yet, so after I do, I'll leave an update as to how they performed. But for the most part this is just a first impression review that I wanted to leave. They're made very well and feel very comfortable in your hand. The clipper itself is of high quality metal that feels very good between your fingers when you're trying to clip. So, for the price, these are very impressive. They are not cheaply made nor do they look cheap. They look as though they will last quite some time. After I give my dog her bath tonight, I am going to try clipping her nails. I always like to try after giving her a bath because her nails are softer from being in the water. Not gonna lie, I didn’t expect to care this much about a toenail clipper — but this one just gets the job done. The wide opening is clutch, especially if your toenails are thick or stubborn. It cuts straight through without you having to squeeze like you’re trying to crush a rock. Super smooth, no tugging, no weird snapping at the end. It feels really good in your hand too. The grip doesn’t slip, it’s comfortable, and it doesn’t feel flimsy at all. The blades are crazy sharp in a clean, precise way, so everything looks neat after instead of jagged. Honestly, it makes something annoying way easier than it needs to be. I also like the little extras — the nail file actually comes in handy, the leather case is nice for tossing it in a drawer or travel bag, and the magnet that keeps it closed is a small but smart touch. Cuts really well. Excellent even. They are everything they should be, except… IMO they are toenail sized trimmers. They are a little big for finger nails. Oh, they work, but are just a little bit big for easy and maneuverable fingernail work. Especially the edges/corners of clippers are not as easy to get at the very corners of your fingernails.
