This is a nice, basic set. It's suitable for teens or those just starting out with at-home gel manicures. The product quality is acceptable, but nothing fantastic. The nail files are poorly made, and the polishes are only average. I also recommend a better quality UV lamp for better results. I am reviewing the kit that includes the LED lamp, mini gel base and top coats, 2 small bottles of gel polish, and nail files. When I purchased this kit, the listing had wording indicating the gels were non-toxic. However, these products all contain Hema which is a common known allergen and something that many nail artists avoid. The wording about non-toxic has since been removed from the listing. As I have a sensitivity to Hema, I chose not to use the gel polishes on my hands. I did however, try the red polish on a swatch stick. I found the red polish to be very thick and hard to get even layers. The base and top coats worked well. The nail lamp is very strong, I used it for both the swatch stick and on my nails with other products. The lamp has a visible timer and does not appear to shut off on its own, so you do have to pay attention to timing. I was not able to get the lamp to work unless I had my whole hand in the lamp, so I could not flash cure a single nail. The nail lamp is good quality, but it lacks the features that I prefer in a nail lamp such as automatic shut off settings and the ability to flash cure nails. I personally cannot recommend this kit for several reasons including the gel polishes containing Hema, the small size of the polishes, and the lack of features in the lamp. This is a really nice lamp and gels, but I can't tell of there's an auto off option. I'll need to read the instructions again in case I missed it. The timer will keep going until I move my hand. I've had roubles with no finding the sweet spot to keep the light on. The gels are nice quality, not too thin or runny and quite opaque. My set came with red, pink, base, top coat, and nail files. I loved them all except the nail files, the grit was falling off as I used them which I've never had happen before. Read more

I'm not a fan of this kit. I had high hopes when I ordered it, but the quality simply isn't there. The nail files dropped their grit from the first swipe, leaving literally blank spots on them. The polish isn't much better, lifting and chipping almost immediately. The curing lamp is cheap and low wattage with minimal options, but it's an okay size for travel if you're in need of a travel lamp. Obviously I'm less than impressed by this kit, and wish they'd done a better job with it. I can't justify the current price of $69, as the value simply isn't there at this time. This is a nice starter kit from a reputable brand. The Procure LED Lamp is super nice. I like that it is open on both sides. I need to hold my nail tips in place while the UV glue cures and I can't do that well with lights that are enclosed on 3 sides. The auto-on feature is very helpful in this situation, as well. Three nail files come in the kit and they are huge! One side is for filing with two different grit options. The other side is for buffing with two different grit options. They are very nice nail files that will handle any need you have. The kit comes with a base coat, top coat, and two color gel polishes. The top coat is no-wipe, which I prefer over the ones that leave a sticky residue that must be cleaned. All four of the polish bottles are trial-size. They are 9mL (0.3 fl oz). A full-size polish is generally 15mL (0.5 fl oz). I'm not a fan of trial-size bottles of polish because I don't get many uses out of them. At this price point, I would have expected full-size gel polish bottles to be provided. There's another issue with the gel polish. They call it non-toxic, but it includes HEMA. HEMA is the #1 allergen in gel nail products. Many brands formulate their products without HEMA due to the risk of allergy. Once an allergy is triggered, it's forever. In my opinion, a gel nail product that contains HEMA or any of the other common gel allergens isn't non-toxic. The two colored gel polishes are a vibrant red and a nude pink. I love how the colors are indicated on the bottle handles. It's so much easier to tell the color than the typical colored dots other brands typically use. An instruction booklet is included that provides very basic instructions for all of Nail Boo's products. This starter kit is a good way to get started with DIY gel manicures. It includes the main items you will need to get started. You will need to provide items like acetone, cuticle remover, and lint-free nail wipes. Read more
