It does not cut down to bare skin, but it makes your inside nostrils very neat with no long hairs showing. I have a turned up nose, so this process is a big deal for me. Manicure scissors can cut you and get infected. This device is a razor covered with a comb to protect you from cuts. No instructions given as to how to use the other brush end, but I guess it cleans out your nose after you cut the hair? Note: this device only cuts hair short, it does NOT shave it off clean. What I got was a lot of snagging and some cutting, but it was a wasted effort that just didn't produce acceptable results.
