Removing from the paper sleeve, it is obvious that this nasal strip is bigger than most others. The strip itself is soft to the touch, feeling almost foam-like on the surface, and contains a beautiful inspirational message on the front that not only carries a positive thought but also shows which end of the strip faces upward. It resembles a set of wings that, “fully outstretched” covers the nostrils thoroughly. The first couple of times that I used them, I thought that this “greater than usual” coverage of the nostril area increased the effectiveness in that it seemed to hold the nostrils open a little bit wider than others that I have used in the past. Inevitably, this can potentially increase airflow, especially during times of congestion i.e. common cold, allergies, etc. While this has been the case for me, the more I used them, particularly in close proximity of applications, I did start to notice a little bit of skin irritation on the surface of my nose, and then some itching when I first put it on. It seems that, for me anyway, this is a good option to have, but just not an “everyday option” because my skin seems to need a bit of a break in between applications. Sometimes, having a different option that covers less area of the skin, just seems to agree with me more. So, bottom line is I think these are a very good alternative to conventional nasal strips to work into a routine, but perhaps not for everyday, unless you happen to have a larger nose (which I do not), in which case, they might be just perfect for you to use more frequently. I’ve been managing sleep apnea for a while, and for the past six months, my sleep dentist recommended using nasal strips to help reduce open-mouth breathing during sleep. I’ve tested four different brands, and I chose this brand's original and plain variation ( this one ) as my top choice over 4 other nasal strips sold by Amazon (see photo). This product is essentially the same strip so it still proved superior when I wore it overnight (see photo). This product's description claims "new and improved" but seems the same size and construction as my original ones. The only differences I see are this product is black vs. skin-colored, has useful instructions printed on each wrapper, and has a religious message (that I could do without, but customers can simply choose their preferred variant so no stars deduction). 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗔𝗱𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 - The strip does its job very well—opening my nostrils and improving airflow. I have a flat nose, so I can easily test effectiveness by blocking one nostril and breathing through the other. This product has a strong adhesive like the variant I was already using, like a band-aid, so it stays on firmly during night and into the morning. Some other strips brands I tried lost their rigidity by morning, but this brand holds up (as long as you follow the instructions). 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 - I appreciate that these strips are individually wrapped since not all brands do. It’s more hygienic and professional compared to bulk-packaged alternatives I’ve tried.
