I purchased one of these Nathan water bottles over 2 years ago, and it's my favorite bottle by far For running. The hand grip allows you to carry the bottle without having to actually "hold" onto it. I've taken this bottle on many a long training run, and it's gotten me through a few half marathons as well. I have had zero leaking issues, and I love that I don't have to pull or yank or unscrew anything to drink. I can take a nice big swig with this bottle (I hate bottles that trickle out water, or that I have to bite down to drink through a straw). This bottle is awesome in every way. NOTE: listing says bottle holds 18oz. This is not true. I used a measuring cup and 16oz of water filled it to the very brim. Now, to address some questions about how much the pocket holds. Some have said "It will hold 'x' phone", and others have said it absolutely will not hold the same phone. I believe all reviewers are accurate, but the pouch size varies based on the color chosen. If you look at the pictures carefully, you will see that on some colors, the zippered pouch goes up all the way to the top. These models will fit my iPhone 6 in an Otterbox case with a little wiggle room to spare (zips very easily, not a tight fit, still room for fuel, keys, tissues, etc). Other colors show a pocket that is more centered on the front of the bottle, and shows some fabric between the zipper and the top of the bottle. When I try to fit the same phone in that pocket, it doesn't fit by a long shot. Still fits my keys, fuel, and tissues, and I've stuffed gloves in there as well, but even my iPhone 5s was a snug fit and hard to zip all the way. So if fitting a large phone in the pocket is important to you, study the pictures and choose carefully. As of this writing, it appears that the Black, Cockatoo, Very Berry, Methyl Blue, and Bluestone are the larger pocket size. Read more
This is my new go-to bottle for long runs. I live overseas and the temps are regularly 100 F and higher during my runs. This bottle keeps cold water cool for approximately an hour during runs when the temps are over 90 and longer at lower temps. Additionally, I have not had any isues with leaks or condensation at all. The water does slosh around a little bit when it is around 50% full but not unbearably so. Finally, the pocket is large enough fit my ID or creid card, car key, and some cash withouth it being overwhemling. I've used a couple fo different style belts with small flasks previously and could never get it to fit quite right without causing irritation on long runs. So far i've had no issues with this product at all. The colors are great and the self-sealing top is incredible. This is a wonderful product and I've already logged a lot of miles with it. I highly recommend this for your long runs. Read more
Great water bottle for all activities. The best thing about this water bottle is that you can freeze water in it and it stays cold for hours. There’s no weird smell from the plastic or weird taste like a lot of water bottles on the market. The side strap is also great for gripping and isn’t heavy to begin with (only when there’s a full tank of water is it weighty). I’ve done a lot of long runs - and half marathons with this and it’s also easy to clean. I love the little pouch - it’s just big enough for keys, maybe some electrolyte bites - but not really for your phone. I will def order again if this one takes a bad beating. Read more
I walk for fitness and toggle between Texas and Miami/Florida Keys, walking 5 to 10 miles per day (think Rickenbacker Causeway or Old Rail Bridge in the heat + humidity or West Texas in the scorching sun and dry heat). I bought this in order to have water/electrolyte solution with me without the burden of carrying a bottle or dealing with a waist pack or Camelback. This fits the bill nicely. The bottle itself fits comfortably in the hand and the strap is easy to adjust but stays put once in place. It is very easy to switch between hands while moving, as well. It holds a nice amount of fluid, which for me lasts about 5 miles before requiring a refill. Even when filling with ice cold water/Body Armor, I do notice that it hits room temperature around mile 1-2 and is flat out warm by mile 3-4. This is better than a standard Nalgene bottle, but don't expect miracles if you're looking for cold hydration well into your route if you're working out in the heat. It is easy to fill from a tap or water fountain, I've not once had issues with leaking, and it is easy to drink from while moving. It easily holds my ancient Galaxy S9 phone, ID/credit cards, and a small SPF stick. After three months of near-daily use, the nylon/mesh bag is still going strong, with no rips, holes, or weak spots. I bought mine for around $20 and came back to get one for my daughter; however, the current $36 price tag is a bit steep. I like this well enough, but at the current price, I'd prefer that it had better insulation and be easier to wash (it is easy enough to rinse out the cavity, but a bit tricky if you need to do an actual soap-and-water wash). I'll keep checking back for a sale. Read more
I really like this water bottle. The pouch is pretty roomy and the bottle is easy to hold. Not that I want it to, but there's no way my cell phone would fit in the pouch (Galaxy S22 Ultra) and if it did, it would be a noticeable amount of weight in there. Unlike one of my other handhelds, the strap used to tighten the hand strap doesn't work its way loose too easily. The hand strap is actually snug enough where the strap probably is redundant, anyway. My only problem has been that while it's great to just squeeze the bottle to squirt water into my mouth, I've often accidentally squirted water out of the bottle when using my hands for other purposes--like pushing off on rocks. It's still my go-to bottle and this order was to get a spare for me and a gift for a friend. In the past, I'd have said that it would be nice to have a key hanger in the pouch, but now with cars using fobs, I put my key in a small baggie in the pouch to protect it from the elements, so a key hanger wouldn't help anyway.
