It's refreshing to find floss that's eco-friendly and not made with plastic or other items that I'd rather not put in my mouth. This floss works great, and I feel better using it knowing that I'm cleaning my teeth without contributing as much to environmental harm. Don't get me wrong, it's not like floss is taking up a lot of space in garbage dumps, but I still think that's it's important to choose eco-friendly and vegan products whenever possible. The floss arrived in a small, space-saving package and contained 5 spools. I had reusable floss containers from other brands of floss that I've tried before, and the spools fit perfectly in them. I found that this floss frayed a little when I pulled it out of the first container I had it in, but it spooled out fine in the other one with no fraying. So, the moral of that is to make sure you have a decent container for the floss. If the floss is fraying, you might just need to adjust how you're storing and using it. The floss itself worked great. The peppermint flavor was very subtle, and I usually didn't notice it unless I was paying attention to it. This is a quality I prefer in floss, since I don't like having a strong flavor in my mouth when flossing. The floss also held up well with use. It might fray a little when I was using it to get into tight spots, but it was not major and it maintained its integrity just as well, if not better than, other brands of floss that I've used in the past. Another unexpected benefit of using this floss was that it felt more gentle on the gums. It worked to clean my teeth without leaving me with my gums feeling strained afterwards. If you're still using plastic floss, give this a try and see how you can have better floss that's better for the planet. Read more

I love thick, natural, waxy floss like this because it actually does its job, unlike most flosses. This refill has 5 rolls and they last quite a while. the box is recyclable, fitting the eco-friendly brand. they don't taste weird or leave debris behind. Considering most big-brand floss is ridiculously expensive now, like at least $10 for two rolls, getting 5 rolls for $13 feels like an absolute steal. Will continue to buy this brand. Reminds me of how coco floss feels without the fun flavors. Read more

This is quite a decent dental floss. What I like about it is that it is made from bamboo fiber. This means that when I’m done using a string of floss, I’m able to throw it into my composer, and it will degrade. There is a very light wax coding to keep things moving smoothly through your teeth, but nothing compared to the plastic and over waxed dental floss you typically find. The peppermint essential oil gives it a nice fresh feeling in your teeth. One thing worth noting is that since this is a thread versus a plastic, you can’t just yank this into your teeth and you might have to to wiggle it a bit more otherwise the string will break. It only took a little bit of adjustment to figure that out, and the floss works great on my teeth now. I also like that this is easily added to the reusable containers that you’re able to buy or you can just use it in a spool and just break off a piece if you wish. Even though the spools in this pack are slightly smaller than what came in the original vile/spool of dental floss. I don’t hold that against them because it’s still a lot of floss. At $13 MSRP for 5 spools, it’s not a bad deal. Read more

This kit contains 150 meters (about 490 feet) of biodegradable bamboo-based dental floss. My guess is that on average, I probably use about 2 feet of dental floss daily, so this set should last me about 8 months. In doing a little research, I learned that the name brand dental floss given out by my dentist as samples uses a nylon string. I definitely like the idea that this is a biodegradable product. I had no trouble with this product shredding or breaking when I used it. That is a problem I have had with some other dental floss products. As for the value of including charcoal and peppermint oil in this product, I personally see no benefit. It is a little strange seeing the black string that this product uses, but I see no reason to believe it works any better or worse than the more traditional white dental floss. While the product does have a minty smell, I did not notice that it has any particularly minty taste when I was using it. Note that this set is a refill, rather than a complete set. Amazon does list a few dental floss dispensers that should work fine with these refills. If you do not already have a dispenser designed to hold a 30 meter refill, you will probably want to purchase one of those also. Read more

I Wanna Eco Natural Bamboo Charcoal Dental Floss Refills, 5x30M Spools I already have the starter kit, which is just a small glass bottle, floss cutter insert, and lid. These refills fit the starter kit perfectly. If I didn't have a container, this floss is easily cut with scissors or a fingernail clipper, for example when minimalist backpacking. I like this floss, it tastes fine, and the black thread looks less gross in the trashcan than white floss to me. It is strong and not prone to fraying or breaking, which is a problem I have with regular floss due to the tight gaps in my teeth. Otherwise, it just works. This floss is a little bit smaller in diameter than the synthetic floss I used to use, which is good and bad. It is good because it fits between my very tight teeth more easily than regular floss or dental-tape, but the thinner thread also digs more into my gums, so I have to be a bit more careful when flossing. On balance, I like that this floss doesn't use PFAS and is biodegradable and overall better for both me and the environment than synthetic floss. I would prefer if it was a tiny bit thicker. Read more
