I first used one of these at a spa and had to have one. The stone is super cold and a little weighty to lay on your face. It feels great and reduces eye/cheek/face puffiness. There are many different color stones you can choose from. Be sure to get THIS one though because the stones are woven close together. I enlarged and examined many listings before choosing this one because some have bigger gaps between the stones-this one is nicer quality and worth the extra price. Your eyes will thank you. I bought these as a splurge gift for myself with the gift card I got for my birthday. I sit in front of a screen all day, and I wear contacts, so my eyes are often red, itchy and just... tired by the end of the day. Lying on the couch with a cool cloth on my eyes is so soothing, but kind of messy, with water dripping down my face. So I bought this in hopes that it would be neater--and it is! No more drippy washcloth. HOWEVER, there are some drawbacks. For one thing, I have to remember to put it in the fridge after I'm done using it so it's there for the next time I need it. But the biggest thing is that it doesn't stay cold very long--maybe 10 minutes at the absolute most. I even tried keeping a bowl of ice water on the side table next to me to rinse the mask and sort of... replenish the coolness every once in a while, but that leads to more drips down the side of my face. In fact, the drips are even WORSE than with a cool washcloth because water drips out from between all the little joints between the stones. What a mess! So sadly, I don't know that this is great for sore eyes. HOWEVER, I HAVE found that this quartz mask is AMAZING for migraines. Sure, it's nice to have a cool mask on your eyes for migraines, but this thing is a lot heavier than my old cloth eye mask--and if you're like me, having a mask with some heft to it is a lot more effective than a cloth one. No more folding up an old t-shirt on my face. Plus there's the obvious benefit--it looks very bougie when I'm wearing it! Read more
