I like the characteristics of genuine Cross ballpoint pen ink and wanted something less costly than a Cross pen to use them in. This pen works fine with the genuine Cross refills and is a pen I have found even more appealing overall than my much more expensive Cross Bailey Light pen. Read more

I recently received this Natural Wood twist-action ballpoint pen and overall I’m pleasantly surprised by both its quality and usability. What I liked: • The wood finish on the barrel feels very nice in the hand. It has a warm, natural texture that gives it a premium, handcrafted look—even though it’s clearly a more affordable item. • The twist-action mechanism works smoothly, and there’s a satisfying click when deploying the tip—no wobble or looseness. • The ink flows well on most papers I use (not overly wet, not too dry). It feels dependable for everyday writing: notes, journal entries, meetings. • It’s comfortable to write with for extended periods—the weight feels balanced, and the grip area is subtly shaped. I often forget I’m using a “less expensive” pen. What could be better: • While the wood finish is attractive, the surface isn’t quite as refined as some high-end wood-barrel pens I’ve used. I noticed a very slight unevenness in the grain/finish (to be expected at this price, but worth noting). • The refill that comes pre-installed works well, but if you’re a heavy writer you may find you want a higher quality refill for smoother/wetter ink or finer line width. • The clip is serviceable, but it’s not super sturdy—so if you carry the pen clipped in a shirt pocket all day it might loosen a bit over time. Verdict: If you’re looking for a stylish, wood-barrel ballpoint pen that punches above its price point in feel and performance, this one is a strong choice. It gives a refined presentation (great for gifting or everyday use) with very solid writing performance. Just be aware it isn’t a luxury pen with flawless finish and premium refill—but that’s totally fine given the value. I’ll be using it regularly and would recommend it to anyone who wants a nice writing instrument without the luxury pen price. Read more

This Natural Wood Twist Action Ballpoint Pen is an excellent choice if you’re looking for an attractive writing instrument that feels a step up from the ordinary without breaking the bank. For a genuinely "nice" pen, the price is certainly right, and it looks exactly the part. Functionality: Twist vs. Click The most crucial detail to note is the mechanism: this is a twist-action pen. Unlike the majority of pens we are all accustomed to using—which typically have a push-button or clicker on the top—you activate the ballpoint by twisting the barrel. This gives the pen a very clean, refined look, but it is a habit you might need to adjust to if you’re used to quickly clicking a pen open. Writing Experience and Aesthetics When it comes to the actual writing, I would say it writes nicely. It holds its own alongside other quality ballpoints, though I wouldn't necessarily say it writes dramatically "different" or better than some of its peers. Its real strength is its beautiful, nice-looking wood finish and construction. It’s an attractive pen to have around, making it a great desk accessory or a reliable pen for signing important documents. Overall Recommendation If you appreciate the classic style of a wooden pen and are happy with a twist mechanism, this is a great value purchase that offers a touch of sophistication to your daily writing tasks. This Natural Wood Twist Action Ballpoint Pen rises slightly above the other options for these kinds of inexpensive bamboo pens on the market. I can't say it's an excellent value compared to bulk bamboo pens, which are often sold in packs of 50 or 100 for under $40, but it is quite nice all the same. The components are quality, the finish is nice, and the pen mechanism is smooth and feels good to use. The matte/polished rings at the midpoint is a nice design touch. I like that these can be refilled with Crown refills, so I can count on having a steady supply of good-quality ink long into the future. Recommended! Read more

I have been wanting a wood pen for some time. I saw this one and liked it immediately. The best feature of this pen is that you can refill it and it takes standard Cross pen refills. The pen seems well made. I'm not totally sure it's real wood, but it looks good enough if I can't tell. The quality is fine. It feels heavy enough - not too lightweight. Read more

I'm trying to find something I don't like about this pen and I'm not coming up with anything. First of all, the classy wood and shiny metal look very stylish together. The hefty weight is nice and signifies the quality components used in its construction. The overall width is thicker than most, so it fits my hand perfectly. It has a smooth twist motion to extend the ink, which can easily be replaced when necessary. Overall, this is an outstanding gift option that appears much more expensive than the actual price. This inexpensive pen is nice looking and writes fine. It doesn’t come in a box. I think it would make a good stocking gift at Christmas even without the box. One twists it to write, so not as easy to use as a click ballpoint. It does have a nice feel to it when writing. Since turning the silver middle accent releases the pen point, and does not open the pen, I don’t think there is any way to re-fill it. So, while it appears durable, it does not seem to be a tool that is long-lasting. Read more
