These are a very classy, lovely knee-high boot! These run a little narrow and small so I would definitely size up. Otherwise, the leather is soft. These fit perfectly around my normal size calves, and the heel is perfect, I just need to stretch them out a little bit which I will do with some mink oil and some boots stretchers. Read more

It’s a pair of good looking boots and three stars *** for that. Why two stars off? #1 * off - the boot description promises sneaker-level comfort and I was sold on that. Who wouldn’t want a sneaker-level comfort, right? However, these boots do not deliver it. My first impression was they were hard inside and very unfriendly to my feet. #2 * off - these boots provide no arch support, none, and there is no cup for the heel. Instead the heel is raised slightly which is not correct anatomically. I suffer from all kind of foot problems: heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, collapsed arches. All of these problems started with wearing cute, beautiful shoes that provide no arch support and no cup for the heel. Now for all my shoes I purchase special insole inserts with strong arch support, however, the problem with high heel shoes is that you cannot use inserts with high arch support, the arch has to be built into the shoes or the boots. With these boots I inserted simple Dr. Scholl’s inserts with jelly heel to soften the heel area, but the arch support is not sufficient and there is nothing I can do to correct it. I knew that most likely I would have to use my own insert, so I purchased these boots one full size bigger (10 vs 9). Although these boots have a very sensible heel, not too high and not too low, but at a little over 2” it’s too high for a good high arch insert. Someone wrote that the boots have an ugly flap on the outside. Well, that flap actually hides a piece of elastic that supposed to make the boots more comfortable. Personally, I have no need for it, but I can see how others could benefit from it. I suppose, it could be sewn in, but it’s an additional cost. Otherwise, the boots fit like they were made for me, size 10 M fitts my 15”-15.5” calves perfectly with a little room to spare, and size 10 gave me enough room for my jelly insert and warm socks. THREE solid *** stars, but very disappointed I cannot give five ***** stars due to missing arch support and no heel cup. I will have to be mindful of those deficiencies and not wear them for long walks or long standing. Leather is thin and the seam under the metal detail is left undone and flaps open to reveal cheap material underneath. The heel height itself is good, not as high as I thought the picture appeared, which was great. The insole is very comfortable. The deal breaker for me is that the boot is pre shaped to make it look like the boot has a calf. I'm sure this is probably fine for shapely bodies. However, for petite women with thinner legs, it's frustrating. Read more
