I've been using magnesium citrate for years to treat constipation, as recommended by my gastroenterologist. The Citrate form works differently in the body than the other type, Magneium Oxide. The magneium citrate offers all the same mineral benefits of the other varieties but it also helps pull fluids into your intestines which makes it easier to pass stool (i.e. go to the bathroom) Typically at least 400mg is needed in healthy individuals to have that effect. I have to take 800mg, as recommended by my doctor for my IBS-C and severe constipation. I’ve only ever been able to find the pill version of magnesium citrate which are HUGE horse pills. Now I’ve been taking magnesium citrate for over 15 years and let me tell you having to swallow 4 giant horse pills every day gets really old. I’ve had issues with them getting stuck in my esophagus and actually having to go the ER. I can’t express enough how excited I am to find a chewable GUMMY version. These gummies are great ! The mg per gummy is less than the pill variety I was taking but they are a welcome change up. Each gummy has 100mg while each pill I was taking has 200mg per pill. So I need to chew more gummies to get the same dosage but again it gives me a break from the pills so I don’t mind. The taste and texture are also surprisingly good. They aren’t really chewy, more a soft gummy. They’re easy to eat and the taste is actually good. There is a tiny bit of an aftertaste but it goes away once your drink some fluids. But hey, it’s a vitamin I’m eating so I’m totally fine with that. As far as the effects, they are just as effective as the pill variety and are a little easier on the stomach too. The one difference I noticed is that the gummies get absorbed much quicker than the pills normally would and kick in faster. I take them at night, so I take them right before I go to sleep to make sure I’m fully asleep while they kick in. If you are someone who has trouble taking large pills or pills in general, these are great! They’re the only chewable magnesium citrate variety I’ve ever been able to find. I hope they never stop making these. Read more

Good taste & texture, coated so they don't stick together, and most importantly they work. High absorption form of magnesium which is important, not all forms of magnesium absorb as well & some can upset your stomach. For the price, these are a really great deal. I've got these on auto-ship now as I take these every single night before bed to help with relaxation, muscle tension, and ADHD med tolerance. Read more

Nature Made High Absorption Magnesium Citrate Gummies are a mixed bag for me. I got these for my son to help with magnesium absorption due to his medication, and while they do the job, there are a few downsides worth noting. First, the taste isn’t great. My son’s expression said it all the first time he tried them! I gave them a go myself and, while not candy-like, they’re tolerable—this isn’t about flavor, after all, but getting a magnesium boost. However, they could certainly be improved. Another drawback is the higher calorie count—30 calories for two gummies to get 200 mg of magnesium feels steep. While magnesium citrate is known for its excellent absorption, those with sensitive stomachs might consider alternatives like magnesium glycinate, which is typically gentler. On the positive side, Nature Made is a reputable and trusted brand. These gummies are manufactured in Canada, which adds peace of mind compared to many supplements of unclear origin (often China). The quality and safety standards here are reassuring, and that’s important when it comes to supplements. In summary, while these gummies aren’t perfect (taste, calories, and dosage are drawbacks), they’re still a reliable choice if you’re looking for an effective magnesium supplement and value quality over flavor. Better than many options out there, but room for improvement! Read more

This works and is a quality product but it tastes bad and the texture is off plus you need like 2-4 of them a day (calories and a lot of sugar) to get enough. However the taste is actually better than most of its competitors and the texture appears to be the norm for magnesium gummies so it is not bad for what it is but just still… I would prefer tasteless magnesium but the pills of another brand didn’t work for me. These are really high absorption. Naturemade also makes pills but the pills are huge so I will probably stick with the gummies as they are making me feel great. Read more

I started buying this to take before bed to help relax me while I sleep. While it doesn't perform miracles, it does seem to help. I have purchased the same exact product (brand, flavor, and supplement type) 3 times and each time the gummies have wildly different flavors and consistencies. First time, they were a little harder with no sugar coating, then softer with a sugar coating, and this time harder with sugar coating. All three had very different flavors, mixed berry was the listed flavor. Last time they did not seem nearly as effective as the first time. That coupled with the product inconsistency, and I think I'll try a different brand next time. Read more
