It helps train me to keep my cervical spine straighter. This helps to reduce the visual and headache disruptions from cervical issues. The rubber vent piece provides extra support of the brace against the head weight when leaning forward. This neck brace works in that it keeps your head and neck up, more or less properly aligned with your spine. I used to type looking down all the time and my neck got very sore. This remedies that problem but has a few problems of its own. For one thing, it's just not that comfortable. My neck kinda got used to it but I could feel the itchy material under my chin and it bugged me. Second, my orthopedic doc looked at it and said it isn't really advisable because it locks up the area behind your neck just as it keeps your head up at the same time. I don't use it frequently. UPDATE *** Buyer beware: this item is NOT returnable to any Kohl's location #1) The plastic support ridges are also on the inside, making it difficult to wear unless I have the starp loosened. Unfortunately, wearing it with the strap loosened does not give the intended support. #2) "one-size" does not fit all. I have a 15 inch neck. For me, the strap position isn't small enough. ● Even without that issue, of the plastic irritates my neck, I can not get the velcro to stay secure because there is too much overlap. Read more
