I have been using these boots for 10 months now with no issues at all. I fish in the surf and from my kayak and these boots are great. They have been getting saltwater blasted with sand and rocks at least once a week for the past 10 months and look good as new. The zipper is very hard to open when it is full of sand but the boots can be slid off with enough squeezing if the zipper jams. Great traction for steep sandy cliffs. Read more

The #1 purpose of Neoprene items are to retain body heat by reducing fresh water( cold water) from entering quickly to allow the body to heat the little bit of water in there to help insulate. These FAIL this mandatory requirement. I wear 10.5, so I ordered 10 to guarantee a tight fit. I even over tightened velcro strap. Still failed the test. But, these are actually some stout booties. If flushing isn't a 100% requirement to avoid then why go 5mm? They are nice booties though. The sole is thick for rocks unlike oneils that are very thin soles. Remember, Every tool has a purpose. Sizing issue – my conclusion is, don’t go by the seller’s sizing chart. Size down; you want a snug boot, and their sizing chart will get you a too-big shoe. I usually wear a women’s Size 10 (sometimes 10.5, depending on the shoe), and a 41 (sometimes 42) European. I measured my feet before ordering these shoes, and they are 27 cm toe to heel (measured as pictured on the seller’s measuring chart). Accordingly, I ordered both the men’s 11 and the men’s 10, assuming that one of the two would fit (the boots come marked in sizing according to US men’s sizes). Both of these were more than a finger width too long in length and too wide in the heel. Even with the shin strap tight, these surely would come halfway off in the water. I then ordered a men’s 9. One of these fits perfectly, but the other shoe (even though both are marked as the same size) is visibly shorter than the other by about ½ inch. One fits perfectly; the shorter one is snug in the toe. Through Amazon I contacted the seller, and they are going to send another pair of 9s, (hopefully both the same size, and the longer and not the shorter of the 9s). These look like they will be good diving boots (and they should be; they cost almost as much as my shorty wetsuit!). They look well sewn, and the sole grippy and thick enough to provide some protection for entry, exit, shore, and boat-deck walking. They look like they will be warm on the feet and also prevent flipper friction with the extended plastic top on the dorsal part of the foot.
