always great to find a base layer that can offer moisture wicking, a spot of warmth/protection and comfort. I spent 7 hours on the snow in 24-32'F weather with a spot of frozen rain/hail/snow. combined with a mid-weight 2nd layer and HH pro shell, my core was just fine! more importantly i'm sensitive to polyester and tend to get rashes when I sweat in a polymer base layer so it was nice to have a bamboo viscose and cotton top that did not hold moisture and even helped pull sweat away. even though i was skinning up, i don't recall ever 'dripping sweat'...sweaty yes, but no buildup of moisture under the jacket. i know, a lot of factors that can help but the main point is "SHIRT DID NOT HOLD WATER"!!
