My hairstylist used a Paul Mitchell thick curling iron to create my newest look and recommended it for my fine, curly hair texture to maintain my hairstyle. This curling iron has a little stand and with the velcro tie makes it easy to put away without cords getting tangled. It was worth paying a little extra to get exactly what I wanted. The temperature goes up to 450! However, since I am still getting used to the high temp have been putting it at 420 so there are less crinkles (again, it heats really quickly!). Due to the size, it wouldn't be ideal for traveling but great for everyday use. Love it!!! Read more

I love how this curling iron get you looking pretty with the curls being big and bouncy ! True beach curls but what I don’t like is you have to be very careful or you will burn your hand? I don’t know if the design was very weirdly made so I would recommend wearing gloves which I didn’t have to do with my other tools, but with this one, you are definitely going to burn your hands, especially if you’re not used to working with big curling irons like this one .. Very powerful too. In terms of barrel size it is exactly what I was looking for to get the larger blow-out style curls. The highest temperature is 450 and it gets very hot, very quickly. Please be careful, I burned myself on my first use but with more practice, hopefully I will get better. I was looking for a 2in barrel but this is so big and its a little heavy, I can't imagine how the 2 in will feel. I think this is perfect for what I need. Read more

The 1.75 barrel size is perfect and hard to find. However, it’s frustrating to use because it doesn’t clamp toward the end of the barrel causing smaller pieces or ends to just slip out. Also, the black tip is too small and I have to be careful not to burn my fingers. It’s also a slippery material making gripping it tricky. I love the high heat, and with a couple tweaks it would be 5 stars. Until they redesign, it is definitely NOT worth the money. Read more
