After a lifetime of dry lips this product is a wonderful find. It easily spreads on my lips, adding a touch of color and shine. There is no texture, no flavor or stickiness. It softens my dry lips! The price is very reasonable and the only change I would appreciate would be if it was in an applicator rather than getting it on my fingers. Read more
Love the gloss. Goes on thick. Has a nice scent. Put it on before I went to bed at night and lips were still moist in the morning. Note: Don't put it on and then drink a Coca Cola - LOL! This lip balm is a game changer! It really does an excellent job at not only sealing in moisture but creating a barrier of moisture over the lips. It also smells phenomenal and is very very thick in texture. It is sticky but not super tacky which I appreciate. I have large lips that can be dry and have a more wrinkled appearance when dehydrated. This balm dramatically increases the appearance of my lips and brings out the fullness of them. I really like the Hydro Boost line- from the color packaging to the way it just sinks into your skin like magic water. I was so excited when I saw this because I have chronically dry lips. I got the blue because I felt the pink would look weird on me (call me sexist- and maybe I would've looked fabulous- but here we are). The pink has added flavor/fragrance though (berry, as I recall?), and that (or any other flavor) would've been welcome because the unflavored blue tastes kind of like clay- very earthy. Not gross, but not preferable to tasting nothing (or any other intentionally added flavor, I don't think). The texture is a bit awkward too- definitely more of a soft, thin paste than a solid balm. A little goes a long way like ChapStick, but it's hard to get out only the tiny amount you need without too much of it sticking to your finger. You just have to barely touch it instead of rub it like a balm. Kind of messy, and looks messy in the jar. I could live with all this happily though, if it was an amazingly effective lip balm. Unfortunately, though, for me it doesn't really keep my lips any moister (or moister for longer) than regular ChapStick or Vaseline or plain.shea butter. It feels great initially (they all do though, don't they? "What a relief!"), but I find it wears off after not all that long (1 hour?) and when it does, I don't feel like my lips are any softer or suppler than before I first applied it. The directions say to "Apply throughout the day", so it sounds like it's doing everything they intentioned, I was just hoping for more at this price point and from the Hydro Boost line. I can apply ChapStick or Blistex throughout the day for a lot less (and I think it even lasts longer than this. Smells/tastes better too). I was looking for something that would either condition my lips so they were softer and moister overall, or something that I didn't have to keep reapplying all the time. For me it's just not worth the price for a not-great-taste and average performance. FWIW, the most softening and hydrating product I've tried so far has been O'Keefe's Lip Repair Night Treatment. I like to use it during the day though because personally I find if I leave it on overnight, it peels off the top layer of skin (still soft and moist- not dry, but still peeling). Perfect for men too with dry lips. No taste, very hydrating. I personally use this at night for extra hydration to keep dry lips away, this works perfect. Don’t need much as it’s dense but smooth when it goes on. Great value. Read more
Love this fragrance free version for night use. Looks white in the package but cheers out to a little bit milky or pretty much clear. Great for night use for gay use if your lips are extremely dry or chopped. I think a small jar of this is going to last me quite a while. It smells like petroleum jelly a little bit, but the smell dissipate once it is melted onto lips. I use the Neutrogena in the little tube that’s clear for gay use because that’s lighter weight than this. But combination of the both of them being truly uncensored and fragrance free has been great especially when I have to wear a mask all day and don’t want to be smelling what’s on my lips.
