New betta mama here. I tried a different pellet variety from Aqueon based of various suggestions but my guy looked personally offended by trying to feed them to him lol. I thought maybe he’s not a pellet guy (he loves Omega’s salmon flakes). Ordered these on a whim and after soaking them for a bit and feeding, he gobbled these right up. It was cute to watch but a testament to the quality. I compared ingredients with the Aqueon pellets and am realizing why my guy was offended 😆 Read more
So... I bought these by mistake, because the ad shows a picture of the "Small Pellets" container, and that's what I thought I was getting. I've got four bettas. One is older (adopted 7 months ago), and he loved these regular sized pellets. The other three are much younger (adopted 2 months ago) and none of them can eat these. They try, but they end up spitting them back out. I later ordered the "small pellets" as well, but they are ridiculously tiny (pictures for comparison). They are useless, unless you're feeding fry or "baby bettas". The bst pellet size out there is Omega One Betta Buffet. Read more
Great Betta food! My Betta loves it. I tried this food for 30 days as his sole pellet food (their website suggested it). His colors noticeably improved as did his energy! He didn't just eat the food, he snatched it! The only thing is that the pellets are a little big at 1.5mm. I think they offer a 1mm pellets. I'll get that size next time. Read more
I loved the idea of this food and the contents of it. Unfortunately my fish didn’t like it the pebbles were a little too big for my betta I tried to crush them some but became too small and pointless. The pebbles are pretty hard and big so probably much better for bigger bettas or bigger fish. Read more
I am a novice aquarium owner so I will NOT attempt to comment on anything about this food beyond what I can observe. My fish readily eats this food – which I appreciate. Through the years I have had some fish who were very picky eaters; this betta is not one of those. I do notice there are some foods he will eat more readily than others, though. I do offer four or five different foods, rotating each day – this one served every four or fifth day, that is. He is doing well and the aquarium is healthy; so, I hope to keep this on his menu. I welcome the advice of more experienced ichthyologists. Read more
Seems like a good quality food, but please note that this is for the regular size, not the small size as pictured. I would recommend this for an older/larger betta, not a young one. Read more
My son wanted a fish for his 5th birthday, so we got him a Betta and some TopFin pellets from PetSmart. After several days, it was clear that "Ponyo" was not eating his pellets. They just sunk to the bottom. I thought maybe he would prefer flakes, so I bought some of those. Nope. Ponyo continued his hunger strike and started to become lethargic. We tried heating the tank and taking out the filter so the water movement didn't bother him, but still he just sat behind his heater, barely moving all day. I thought for sure he would be belly up in no time and we'd have a sad 5 year old. After doing more research, I found these pellets and the reviews looked great so I figured I'd give them a try. Within a few days of starting these pellets, Ponyo started to perk up. Over time he has become more and more active. When you come up to the tank, he swims right over and tries to attack you. Today, for the first time in 6 weeks, we put the pellets in and he swam right up to the top and gobbled them up, which delighted my son. I'm so glad we found this food- he is like a totally new fish! My two Bettas spit them out. They rejected this food completely. Some pieces are bigger than others and those I had to scoop out of tank they were obviously to big for them to eat. Money down the drain with this food. I wish I had listened to the other reviews that mentioned this problem. The food is badly sized and very hard. Will never recommend this food to anyone. Read more
