Cute Fabric Boots with Clear High Heels but Limited Structural Stability
I received my Newbella shoes and am pleased with the overall appearance, design, and functionality of them as boots. If you are familiar with this particular brand and their "mousse fit" footwear - these boots are like any other item you'd find from this brand. If you are new to this material - please note that the entire shoe itself is a particular type of fabric rather than a more traditional footwear material. I was a bit befuddled the first time I ordered from this brand and received a "fabric show," but this is one their signature styles. I typically wear a size 8.5, but I tend to size up to a 9 in boots in anticipation of wearing thick winter socks. However, I find that Newbella runs about a half-size small, so I do always just stick to a 9 with this brand. The 9 in this particular footwear actually feels a bit small to me, but mostly due to the pointed shape of the toe box. When I unboxed these heel-boots, I initially thought they were uncomfortable and rubbed against the pinky toes in an uncomfortable way, but I found myself still wearing them 6 hours later with no complaints. Thus, these shoes definitely can be "broken in" to fit better, and the "mousse" fabric material does mold to one's feet eventually. I've worn the boots a few times now, and every time I put them of, they initially feel uncomfortable, but same thing - I'm still wearing them hours later without complaint. They must be comfortable after the first five minutes is my only logical conclusion. : ) The clear heel is the main reason I ordered these boots, and I do find it aesthetically interesting and a decent pairing with the lace up black boot style. The heel is well-made and very sturdy. However, I think it's important to note that these boots are not terribly in which to walk, in my personal opinion. While the fabric is certainly comfortable, it likewise offers essentially zero support. If you have unsteady ankles and/or rely on the actual structure of the boot to help keep you upright - this pair may not be advisable. I think a wearer will get used to the feeling of different muscles being worked, but these shoes are more of a workout to wear than most. Lastly, while they fit me just fit, I have literally child sized limbs and especially skinny ankles. I will update this to produce measurements when I'm able, but suffice to say, this shoes were designed for small ankles. If you have a larger frame, I would advise checking other reviews as they come in for sizing, as the boots do stretch, but I'm not sure how comfortable they'd be *if* stretched to be able to wear. Overall, the boots are sewn and constructed well and look very true to their photos on the Amazon marketplace. They run a bit smaller than a typical size 9, and are made from comfortable material that is not very supportive. Once I got used to wearing them, I ended up liking them and continuing to wear them, but I do find them a bit tiring on my lower leg muscles to wear. They look pretty cool and a fair value for the price and quality. If these boots appeal to you, I would not dissuade you from ordering them, and would simply recommend that you check the size chart and other reviews to ensure a proper fit on the first order.
