I ❤️ This Stuff! Not slimy/greasy like so many are.
While one would think it would effect greasy or oily looking and feeling hair based on the ingredients, it does not. It seems to be quite lightweight and I think the best way to describe the effect that it has is to say that it provides a "slip" to my curls that make them bouncier and shinier and seems to protect against frizz. What I especially love about this product is that, unlike so many of the other products on the market (like ALL of them!) I've found to be just rather greasy, if not done right slimy, and they attract dirt/dust. While they might make one's hair look nicer for the first few minutes, after just a little while it seems that shiny frizz is produced that attracts dust or dirt. That doesn't happen with this product. YAY! My favorite way to use it is to put three squirts into my dollop of hair conditioner after shampooing. I use Clairol Herbal Essences Rose Hip Conditioner after shampooing with Johnson's Baby Shampoo. YES... I have found that with my naturally curly and extraordinarily fine hair that Johnson's Baby Shampoo is the ONLY shampoo that does not cause dryness and other strange things to happen to my hair. Ignore the nonsense about sulfates. They are a NECESSARY agent to lift the oil and sebum and dirt from one's hair especially if it is super baby fine like mine. Because of the fact that oil does not get distributed well through curly hair it does need a little bit of help and that's where this amazing Nexxus product comes in. After rinsing my conditioner and Nexxus oil combination out, I use Nexxus Cashmere Curls Gel Cream on my towel dried hair all by itself. For the top of my hair, which I will either loosen the curl with with a curling brush or a blow dryer, when my hair is almost dry, I mix one squirt of this in with another squirt of the Nexxus Cashmere Curls to protect it from the heat when I am finishing it. It is almost unbelievable how well the two Nexxus products work together. It is an extremely pleasant and welcome bonus that this product smells so amazing too! It is not so overpowering that it will clash with your favorite perfume. It leaves a pleasant, very light scent throughout your hair. I LOVE the smell of the Nexxus Cashmere Curls Gel Cream too but it very rapidly dissipates. When I mix a little bit of this in with that the scent is just very pleasant and seems to last. I keep one bottle in the shower so that I have it handy by my hair conditioner and one bottle with my styling tools. OH! I almost forgot to mention...purely by accident did I discover that it is also wonderful for your cuticles. When I got my first bottle I was so enamored with the scent that I didn't rinse it off of my hands when I first used it and I found myself massaging my cuticles. It softens them and makes them much less noticeable between manicures but doesn't make my hands or fingertips feel oily or greasy. Read more
