This air freshener is a step above the ones you hang from your rear view mirror. The problem I've had is that the scent is released at once and they don't last very long. The design of these fresheners is unique and solves that problem. One bottle lasted for a few months. It uses the cap and the rope as a diffuser. You turn the bottle upside down for a few seconds to soak the cap and the rope, and then let it hang and disperse the scent. The scent lingers for a while and gives you the option to refresh it whenever you want. The particular scent I got was nice, but not exactly my favorite. I hope there will be more unique scents that break away from the traditional "New Car" and "Lavender" scents. All in all, this is a great alternative to the traditional hanging air freshener. I was excited to try out this item, but the scent was not pleasant and I couldn’t smell it unless I put my nose right up to it. For the scent “night” I was expecting something clean and crisp but the scent was very perfume/floral forward. I like the design and it’s pretty, but it really doesn’t work. It is meant to hang from the car's rearview mirror, though I planned to keep it in the center console. That is, until my partner decided she liked it for her own car! It is more obtrusive than most car air fresheners (except for those awful cardboard trees), but the bottle is attractive and could be a conversation starter. This was very easy to open up and very easy to install. I got this scent based and it does smell good. However someone who rode with me stated that it smells like an elderly person in the car. I don’t think it’s giving that vibe. It’s very classy looking and quality materials that will last longer than the scent does.
