The media could not be loaded. This alarm clock is fantastic. It's not just a clock; it’s an alarm, a lamp, and a Bluetooth speaker all in one, plus it has a Sleep Helper mode. It’s got basically every feature I could need, and the sound quality surprised me—it actually sounds decent! The speaker is probably the best part. It can get pretty loud, and it sounds way better than some other small Bluetooth speakers I've used. You can easily hook it up to your phone to play music or audiobooks. You can also change its Bluetooth device name on your iPhone, which is a big plus. (The default Bluetooth name is “DY20” — how the heck are you supposed to know what that is?) It’s not limited to Bluetooth either. There’s also a slot for a micro-SD card if you prefer to put your music on one of those. They refer to it as a TF Card slot, but I googled it and it’s a micro-SD slot (in U.S. speak.) For charging, you have the option of USB-A and USB-C. You can use it as a speaker on battery power for 4-5 hours. I like that it has rubber pads on the bottom. They keep it from sliding all over my nightstand when I’m trying to hit a button. They aren’t 100% slide-free though. Their success seems to depend on the material you place it on. It might help to add your own pads if you have some. One warning about the buttons. Almost every button—even the lamp—does two different things, depending on whether you press it or long-press it. You definitely need to read the instructions, and I feel like anyone outside the ages of maybe 8 to 50 is going to be confused. Also, the clock display is small. It’s definitely designed with younger users in mind. For waking up, you get a few decent options. You can’t use your own music, but what they offer is acceptable. My favorite is Canon in D. The options are: * The standard, annoying beeping sound. * Pachelbel's Canon in D. * Birds chirping. * Four other original music or music-and-bird-sounds combos. When the alarm goes off, the white light also turns on. You can tap the top to snooze it, or hit any button to stop it. It turns itself off after nine minutes. The Sleep Helper mode has 30 different sounds to help you fall asleep. There are the regular things like ocean waves, a stream, rain, thunderstorms, and crickets. But it also has some unusual noises like machinery sounds, an ultrasound heartbeat, and a strange, high-pitched five-second cicada noise that fades in and out. It also has several digital music lullabies. And there’s a version of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", which sounds like it was played by a child on a toddler’s wooden piano from the 1980s. Definitely recommended, because this product does so much and does it well. It’s also quite nice looking and has some decent heft to it. The Clock/Speaker measures about 7 in. H x 4 in. W x 4 in. D. Overall pretty happy with this clock/speaker with a few things that could be improved. Great value for the price/functions. I got this for my 6yo who is a bit afraid of the dark, but this thing does way more than just provide light! It has multifunction capabilities. It is a nightlight, a sound machine (you can see in the video that she chose which sound she wants to sleep to!), an alarm clock, a regular clock, AND it connects to your phone or other device to play music through the speaker. At this point, the question is: what DOESN'T this thing do!? I am IMPRESSED. Connecting the speaker to my cell phone was a breeze—simply hit the BT button and it is ready to pair! This is a very cool tech gadget for the price. The combo of Nightlight and Bluetooth speaker is perfect for the bedside. It’s a little bit casual for my bedroom, but my teenager really likes it. Waking to light rather than an alarm is a great idea and much more in keeping with our natural sleep/wake cycle. Read more
