The media could not be loaded. Back story: I didn't realize how much I'd taken for granted my prior blender, a beast from Farberware that could power through anything and had super solid construction...or so I thought. The jar collar cracked a couple of years ago, and when I tried to replace it, I learned the model had been discontinued and parts were not available. I looked for a replacement blender then, but I couldn't find anything that seemed to fit the bill. So I used industrial epoxy and fixed the crack, and all was good for over a year. Alas, the inevitable occurred. The epoxy failed, and I had to consign the old Farberware to the landfill. (Actually, the garage, which is my appliance and electronics graveyard.) I started my search anew, but had a hard time finding a blender that would also play well with the other black-and-stainless gadgets on my pantry shelf. I ordered one anonymous monstrosity because of its looks and purported power, then immediately returned it when it left large shards of ice in my margarita (after having blown out my eardrums). (Note so self: no more unrated Amazon products.) I needed a blender. So I looked again and landed on this one, even though I was leery of the plastic pitcher. Y'all, this thing is giant! I'm usually making drinks or recipes for one. However, I performed the litmus test (hello, margarita), and even with one serving, this thing performed admirably. Plus, it came with a recipe book and a little brush thingie for the disgusting things the dishwasher might miss. I won't lie; it's loud. I wonder if that's because of the plastic (vs. glass) pitcher. But my dog and I can hide while it's working, because you pre-set it and go. It does all the speed-shifting magic for you, once you choose the setting. It remains to be seen how it does with anything other than margaritas or post-workout smoothies, but honestly, that's all I've ever used a blender for anyway. This one has a dough hook though...and I'm a big sourdough snob...who knows? Hard to imagine consigning my whole rye sourdough starter to this chunk of plastic, but maybe I'll try something more pedestrian. Meanwhile, can you tell I'm enjoying my margarita while I write this review? Read more

This blender is perfect! EXCEPT..... The base is loose and separates when I try to lift if off the counter (as the four little suction tubes on the bottom sticks to the counter to secure it in place... When trying to lift it to move it, the base of the blender literally comes out... At first I wondered if that's the design, but it's an obviously flaw Read more
Okay, so I had to Google how to start it because I actually NEVER read instruction manuals (not something I'm proud of)! Just so you know, make sure the lid is lined up with the handle (the spout will be on the back left)! Let me start by saying... WOW!!! I put plain Greek yogurt, strawberries (with just the tops cut off - NOT quartered), and blueberries in. Then I hit the "Smoothie" button and it started. There are ZERO chunks of fruit - it is all 100% blended. Literally EVERY other blender I have used STILL ends up with chunks, even after the fruit is cut up. If you can't tell, I am completely amazed!! BUY THIS BLENDER!!! It's SO worth the $$!!! Read more

Had another version when a piece went missing so a replacement was needed. It was easy to set up but OMG, I guess I didn't realize how much my old blades had dulled!!!! These beauties are SHARP so keep that in mind! The motor is powerful! I was shocked at the improvement from my other one. It's not very silent but it has the power to land a jet. I'm sure it will be able to work dough (though I've never used it for that). The suction on the bottom holds it firmly (very firmly) in place with no worries. It's as thick and durable as my old one without being cumbersome. Y'all need to get one! It's a fun gadget that does it's job well. For easy cleaning, I add a drop of dish detergent and water and start it up. It basically cleans itself. I still pull it apart and clean it but watch those blades! I now use a bottle brush. You'll love it though! Read more
I want to start by saying, even though the user guide says it can be washed in the dishwasher, I would avoid it! After using it once, I washed the lid and the blades on the top rack of the dishwasher, and the lid warped enough so that the entire blender was unusable. BUT THAT BEING SAID... I contacted Ninja for support and they were EXCELLENT, and ordered a replacement for me right away. This lid might be defective, or maybe it doesn't really belong in the dishwasher. Regardless, when the blender did work, it was great! I bought this to replace my Vitamix when it broke, and I needed a less expensive option. While my old Vitamix was a lot more powerful and blended things more quickly, the Ninja seems more versatile than my Vitamix, and I love the IQ function setting. It is a little louder than my old blender, but that's not a deal breaker for me. So far I'm glad I bought this and I am looking forward to using it more and trying new recipes. I won't be putting it in my dishwasher, though! ;) Read more
I love my smoothies- day in and day out. The easiest way to get this 62 year old to eat (drink) vegetables that she just doesn’t want to eat. Spoiled child who loved vegetables at an early age developed a bad diet habit that never included vegetables from her late childhood and throughout her teens and all through adulthood! Now she’s a vegetable eating nut when she blends them in a smoothie. Three veges and three fruits per blender; blended into a beautiful piece of magic that makes 3 meals and treats that Anyone could enjoy: even me and my brother!! And this blender is a wonderful workhorse that magically makes my favorite meal every single day without fail!! Read more
