Yes, the magnet is strong. I was a little skeptical the magnet wouldn't hold but it did! I bought this for a girls trip to sedona, I have a thick felt hat and this clip held it to my backpack with no issues. It never fell off or unclipped it was perfect! Read more

2025 upgraded with N52 magnets
I purchased this particular hat magnet because the listing states: "...2025 upgraded with built-in N52 strong magnets." After reading many reviews the main issue seems to be whether the included magnets are strong enough to hold on to the hat brim, particularly in transit. As "N52" is the rating for the strongest magnets this seemed like a good choice. The navy is a true dark navy and the pebbled leather is attractive. (Decent presentation gift box too.) The attachment ring was easy to manipulate open but side note, it can't be attached to a really wide strap. I hung my cotton Dorfman safari hat off the ring attached to a shoulder. I hung the bag over a chair and it has not fallen down after 2 days. So far so good. (The DPC hat weighs 8.5 ounces.) First impressions, appearance and magnet quality rate 4 stars. I'll reserve that last star until I test it while on the move. Read more

This is a great hat clip as it has some width to it. I got it for my wide brim sun hat & am quite pleased with it. Soft, pretty pink pebbly leather. Easy to open and it’s a sturdy item, so it functions well. Great Clip -- Keeps Hat Safe and Out of Your Hands
I know I will love using the Niveaya Magnetic Hat Clip on trips to the beach or for any sort of travel. I saw a lady using one in the airport, and I loved the way it held her hat over her rollerbag and small duffel. I tried it out at home by hanging it on a shopping bag, and it worked great. Keeps your hat in shape and out of your hands. It took a minute to figure out how to attach it to my bag. A video might help. Read more
