This has kept me warm through a -40F spell of winter in Minnesota so far. It is very soft, comfortable, and breathable, while doing a good job protecting from the wind. It's stretchy so it fits well, and the quality is pretty incredible, especially given the price. The one issue I've had with this is that it doesn't stay in place well on its own, but rather will slide down my face. However, when there is some amount of overlap with a beanie, where one is on top of the other, it doesn't move on me. I feel like this isn't a problem, though, since if it's cold enough to need this, you're probably wearing a beanie as well. If you are just wanting to wear this on your face without some other sort of winter headgear, it may not be a great option. Got this as a gift for my son. He loves it! The lining is super soft and warm, yet it is breathable. It stretches so it will fit over your head. Very nice quality and functionality. He can't wear scarves because he's a mechanic but this is perfect. He wears it on his neck but when it's really cold he can cover up his nose and mouth for good face protection. I bought this along with several other gaiters/neck protections. This is by far my favorite one and has been WONDERFUL in this cold snap. The fur is incredibly soft and feels great on your neck. I had no irritation whatsoever even when wearing it for a while. I had it over my mouth/nose while shoveling and while it will get damp/wet from your breath it never felt "gross" or anything. I turned it inside out and it dried out perfectly fine. Materials feel very sturdy and for the price I was a bit surprised how solid it felt.
