I always read the bad and good reviews and then make my decision. After reading the negative reviews, I decided to try this bed out anyway. We have included size comparisons to a queen size pillow. The small fits my overweight (lol) chihuahua with plenty of extra room. She is still getting used to it in the pics. As to the hood not staying up...it is made of flexible foam that holds its shape for the time being. I think it may eventually sag which would be ok if your pup likes cave-like darkness. The padding is soft and thick. Not too sure about the non slip bottom. That's the only part I don't agree with. Love the color. I would suggest that you get a knife to open the package. I have 5 dogs. Each one of them absolutely LOVES their own personal cozy cave getaway beds. I recently purchased 2 of the Noyal Round Hooded Donut Beds for 2 of my 4 dogs. They look absolutely adorable---HOWEVER they are not functional at all. The dogs can't get into the Cozy Cave because the hood will NOT stay up. Maybe my dogs aren't as smart as everyone else's but I have watched they try to sneak under-push the hood over BUT they are totally worthless if you were looking for a nice hooded cave that actually stands up. Extremely cushy and enjoyable for my young puppy. The only issue is that the roof collapse is very easily. She uses it like a bed on top or crawls in and uses it like a sleeping bag if she's chilly. I kind of like it like that because she hangs her head out and it's pretty adorable. I ordered the small and it is a little bit bigger than expected I should have gotten the extra small for my baby apple head teacup chihuahua. I have not washed it yet. This bed so far is wonderful! My chihuahua gets cold, and I looked for a bed she could cuddle into... I tried other round beds - good quality, but she was exposed in the middle, and tightly curled/still cold. she actually likes to burrow under covers of some sort.I bought one with an "attached" blanket, which was worthless! The supposed blanket was just a lightweight piece of the same material sewed onto the side... When it was open, and the dog was in the bed, how is it supposed to pull that down on itself?! In actuality the "blanket" fell down onto the bed and the dog - unable to realize it was a separate piece, simply layed on top. Returned! This bed so far has stayed open enough that Taffy can either lay on top, or more likely, cuddle inside. The hood is double-weight, and she has no trouble finding the opening, even if it isn't totally open! It's actually better that it doesn't stay totally open because she likes it better around her and warm.Best bed ever! Great! Read more

Purchased the 27” for my 24”L x 22”H pup. Item arrived vacuum-sealed. No weird smell at all upon opening. Before using, I threw it into the washer on the bulky setting, warm. Threw it into the dryer on low for 125 min, but it was taking pretty long to fully dry, so I put it inside out (flipped hood part backwards) and set it on medium heat for 40 more min. That did the trick. (It recommends low but I was impatient.) My pup was immediately curious when I brought it downstairs. He attempted to step into it twice, but he wasn’t sure about what to do with the hood part. He didn’t understand how to get up under it. It was funny to watch. I know he will get the hang of it eventually. Earlier this year, he developed anxiety from loud nextdoor neighbors. I am hoping this bed helps with that issue and calms him. Day 1 with the bed, he lays on top of the hood, with it flat. See pictures. He fell asleep almost immediately. It’s very soft and cozy. It did not get matted after washing/drying. I see negative reviews about the hood part not staying up. Mine didn’t have that issue. Of course, it will flatten more if your dog is heavy and likes to lay on top of it. The more your dog goes up under the hood and molds itself into the material, I’m sure the hood will stay up over time. Washing and drying helps keep it fluffy as well, making the hood more pliable. All in all, this was a winner! I love the brown gradient color. I bought a 2nd one in dark gray gradient for upstairs. **UPDATE 7/24: I received the 2nd order today (different color) but this one did not fare well after washing. Some stuffing came out in the wash and in the dryer. I found a ripped seam on the inside, around the bottom. I took off two stars for that, as now I will have to sew it myself. (I’m no seamstress!) I’m guessing that some of these aren’t sewn as well as others, and maybe it’s just the luck of the draw. Also, this one did have a slight smell after drying it, I’m assuming that it’s coming from the outside lining on the bottom. I’m a little bummed about this purchase now, honestly. I have two small 5-8 lb dogs. So far one hasn’t left the bed. I bought the 24 inch. It has more room than they need but the way they run and play, the extra room will be fine. The top has a wire to keep the opening open as long as the dogs don’t chew into it. Anyhow. I like it. They like it 😇 Read more
