I got these shoes for my husband. You can't go wrong with a pair of classic black dress shoes. The material on the outside is durable and not super shiny. The bottoms are slip (and squeak) resistant. And the best part is the extra cushion and arch support on inside. He says they are very comfortable to wear and don't rub on his heels. They have a rigid heel for easy slip-on/slip-off and good airflow so his feet can breathe. I received these for a member of my household who needed a professional shoe that would not be a struggle to put on every morning. The main selling point is that rigid heel which is supposed to let you step right into the shoe. I can confirm it actually works. I watched him slip them on without bending over or using a shoehorn and the back didnt collapse at all. It is a great feature if you have mobility issues or just want to get out the door faster. However the look is definitely more about utility than high fashion. The leather has a very smooth and almost plastic-like shine to it. They look perfectly fine for a standard office environment or a uniform but they definitely dont have the rich texture of a premium dress shoe. In terms of comfort he said they feel incredibly lightweight which is a plus if you are walking a lot. The foam sole makes them feel more like a sneaker than a stiff oxford. One thing he did mention though is the gel pad in the heel. It feels a bit like a distinct lump under the foot at first and it took him a few days to stop noticing it. The biggest thing to watch for is the sizing. Because that heel is so stiff it does not grip the back of your foot like a regular shoe would. If the fit is not exactly right your heel will slide up and down with every step. We found they run a bit large so you might want to consider going down a half size to keep them secure. These are not cheap shoes, and the quality shows. Stitching is amazing, the shine is great, the fit was perfect, and they came in black and brown, we went with the black. As with any type of new shoes, you want to scuff them on the ground on the bottom before just walking on a shimmering shiny floor, because you don't want to slip. These were actually some of the better shoes I have seen right out the box that didn't need a lot of stuffing on the bottom to prevent slipping. Check the size chart, they are true to size, they are not especially wide, so it will just depend on the size of your foot. Nunn Bush is not a brand I have heard of before, but after this I will be checking out their store for other items, since they are so quality made. They're not cheap, but they are still under $100, so they're not going to break the bank. These would go great with a suit, they would also go great with a nice shirt and a tie with jeans, so you can definitely get some functionality out of them. Incredibly high quality shoes, super comfortable to wear. The fit is true to size, and the style is classy while being plenty functional. I've always known dress shoes to be incredibly uncomfortable and painful to wear, only worn when absolutely necessary. These make a world of a difference. They're my new work shoes, I work 12-hour days and spend most of it on my feet and often get 15,000 steps in. These when compared to my old work tennis shoes are night and day. The price isn't bad as it is for a pair of shoes, but the quality and comfort of these blows others out of the water. Review from my husband: I've owned a pair of these shoes before and I really like the quality of them. These shoes are made for comfort. They have a nicely padded inside for comfortable walking, there is a perfectly made arch support, which means when wearing these all day my feet won't get tired or sore. The uppers are a faux leather that is easy to polish up with a shoe shine, and the sides near the laces have a stretch band to allow for added comfort and to make them easier to put on or remove. The soles have a nice rubber like tread which I appreciate in dress shoes, as many dress shoes have a smooth sole that makes them dangerous in icy or slippery conditions.
