General Use: The controls on this unit take some getting used to but once you get them down it's easy to use. I'm also pleased to report while this thing is running the sides are safe to touch and it doesn't get too hot like some other models I've tested where they get so hot you might burn yourself touching the side of the unit while cooking. Rotisserie: The rotisserie feature works well and I made a 5.5lb bird with it. The spindle appears to be of metal construction, unlock some other units I tested where the spindle was plastic. The included "Basket" snugly fits the Costco Hot Dogs!... 170F at 30 minutes on 700W and they are perfectly prepared every time, just like you get them hot in the store which was HUGE bonus for me as I couldn't find anything out there to heat them properly due to their large size. French Fries: I purchased the separate Drum basket accessory and can happily report it easily makes 2lb's of fries reliably. Dehydrator?: During this 30 day period my Excalibur Dehydrator failed after 2 hours and I used this for 34 hours running continuously at 105F to finish the job, did excellent work. I haven't had opportunity to make a steak yet with the grill plate using the included thermometer but the above success stories are enough to make me keep and recommend the unit to others at this point. It was one of the worst days of my life. My little buddy, my pal, the one who stuck through me through me being thick and thin, has passed. The one I could always depend on when food was hard(frozen). I can’t say enough good about it. I knew I could always depend on it. I always went to it, good day or bad day. It was always there for me. I bought this beautiful unit on September 11, 2018. As I try to type this, with tears in my eyes, my NuWave air fryer with a 6 quart capacity(sob, sob) has gone to the great countertop in the sky. It has been the best little air fryer a guy could ask for. It’s made countless chicken nuggies, French fries(shoestring, crinkle cut AND waffle),corn dogs, hot dogs, burgers, garlic bread, chicken breasts, smoked sausage, hot pockets, you name it, it went in there. Always cooked to perfection. All I can do to honor this piece of culinary perfection is give it a great review. I researched this machine forward and backwards and Now that I have it and have been using, it’s Amazing! It’s so easy to Clean, and actually quite easy to use in general. We’ve had steaks, and we’ve had hamburgers and Catfish, etc, etc. I’m looking forward to trying out cooking so many other dishes too. Like scallops and perhaps biscuit and more…. I just can’t get over how EASY it is to Clean.. I’m Really Happy with This Machine and would buy again. So far the only issue I see are the door hinges, they are plastic and not reinforced plastic at all, I’m afraid they will break, and if so how to Replace or make do. I did purchase the additional warranty so hopefully that covers it. Also I do believe the electrical cord should be more heavy duty, as it pulls a lot of energy and cord gets a bit on the hot side when cooking. This item is cheaper at Macy’s. However, it was not available immediately and was backorder. I decided to purchase it from Amazon, since my wife didn’t want to wait. I contacted Amazon and the seller regarding this issue and was hoping a price match warranty. Amazon stated that they didn’t do price match after the purchase was made. I told them that once I got the item, I would return it and purchase again with a previous price match. However, I didn’t do that. I was disappointed since always Amazon has give great customer service but this time it was horrible. The vendor answered that they didn’t have price match policy. Even thought, I didn’t penalize the vendor in the ratings. Regarding the Air Fryer Brio 6qt, it is a great product and delivers what is promised. The recipe book states to boil the potatoes for 40 minutes before cooking, but this is too much. 10 minutes is enough. However, the recommendation is to put potatoes, sweet potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, etc. raw and cook. The result is delicious and crispy. I cooked a whole fresh chicken with only spices and came out moisture and crispy. The recipes sometime ask to butter or oil, but my recommendation is not to use any oil for health reasons and because it is not necessary. Also, the time, I cooked potatoes with oil, it made a mess in the basket and it was difficult to clean it. For the food to be crispy is better for them not be clustered, so I ordered the Nuwave Brio Gourmet Accessory Kit, which I have not try but it cost almost $45.00 but I think is a lot. Read more
