Bigger than I expected, but a nice instrument
Purchased as a gift for my musician husband because he loves weird and unusual instruments of all kinds. He had a cheap plastic ocarina he got at a local Renaissance Faire, and he loved it, but it sounded like the cheap piece of plastic it was. So I got him this wooden so he could really get the feel for the instrument. First of all, it's gorgeous! And seems very well made. And of course the sound quality of the wooden one is far superior to the plastic (I mean, duh! Of course it is). It was quite a bit larger than I thought it would be, but hubby doesn't seem to mind. He'll have fun with this wooden ocarina. And maybe finally ditch that plastic thing! Read more

I'm not a pro but it does sound better than the other 2 I have tried before this one it is light in weight too so bringing it around is pretty easy and with it being real wood you don't have to worry about breaking it when it drops. Read more

Tuning seems off, but good tone
Not sure what the tuning is supposed to be, but according to my tuner it's B major. The bottom A shows an A4, but all larger holes covered produces a B4. Seems like the right semi holes needs to be widened, maybe? Regardless, it plays a near perfect major scale and the top semi tones that it produces are good. Read more
