I am a carpenter for a huge GC in Madison,WI. These bags are great. Occidental Leather is the way to go for any self respecting carpenter... Basically you are buying the luxury 3500 duramax.... And everyone who sees you will know it and ask you about them. The cordura fabric is tough enough to last 5 years easy. They are light weight and comfy. Only gripe I have with this bag is that there was a little more storage but after spending a couple months with em I figured them out. Don't wait.... Go Oxy. And no... Bridge carpenter. Room for 8's in small bag, duplex 16's and 16 sinkers in larger bags and chamfer nails in small bag as well as a half roll of tie wire for pinch nails. Space for adjustable wrench, cat paw, pencils, valve marker. I occasionally have a flat bar tucked in at the belt and wailer dogs on top of the nails. Rides comfortable. Lightweight which is great when you already carry a ton. Canvas seems 2 or 3 times as thick as box store variety, stitching and rivets are quality. Read more

I'm a remodeling / restoration carpenter in Richmond Va. I wanted something light but well made. I tried the Fat Lip before this one, and while you CAN get your hand passed the tape holder and down into the large pouch easier...the Fat Lip was just too huge...16" end to end!!! I'm 5'7" so the thing came almost to my knee!!! This one is just 12" and so far, I've been very happy. Its only seen 2 weeks of use, so I can't vouch for it's durability...but it is extremely well constructed and pratical. Love the speed square slot!...pouch doesn't slide around on the Occidental padded belt. It would better if accessing the large pouch was blocked by the tape holder...but I think it will get easier after it breaks in...material is very thick, rigid and stiff...thats my only issue...otherwise it would have been 5 stars...condidering how insanely expensive this stuff is. I’ve been an occidental leather fan for a long time. I ordered this bag to replace another and the stitching on it was all over the place. I think for a 100.00 the quality would have been better. I returned and will order another hoping it is stitched together better. ——————————— I got the replacement today so the last one must have been a mishap, this one is spot on just like occidental normally is. Stitching is pretty bags are assembled nicely. It’s the quality I have come to appreciate over the 25 yrs I’ve been building. Read more
