Great nostalgic feel but competitive with modern games
I don’t often bother trying to Platinum games but this one was actually worthwhile to do. I don’t see any replayability here, even to start with a different character, because there’s no difference in getting all the storylines or outcome in doing so. However it’s definitely a game that I appreciated doing every possible thing in it and completionism is something I thought I gave up a long time ago too. But this reminds me a lot of the games that I did bother to do that with so it definitely maintains that old school nostalgia and was not a slog to do. Controls weren’t hard to figure out. I wasn’t expecting to get hit hard with the feels on the apothecary story like that but that really bummed me out. I’ve stopped playing games that are too depressing but this wasn’t so damned grimdark that you didn’t see a light at the end of the tunnel. A good balance of moving story and hopeful outcomes.
