Hydroxyls Don't Seem to Have A Lot of Good Info Online about them
This product worked well, but you have to know how to use it well. What I could not find online that I could only find in the manual for "1." are three important things: 1. An air humidifier is "recommended". I tried with a bucket of water as an alternative, but this barely worked at all. I almost had to buy one later on, but then realized I happened to have one lying around already. 2. The manual says you should NOT clean with water. Only vacuum it out and then air out the remaining odor. So, hopefully you have a safe place to air out your machine as well. 3. Leave the machine running for 1.5-2 times as long as you would an ozone machine. The air humidifier creates those air bubbles that capture the smells naturally that de-odorizers probably cover up but actually still leave the toxins in. When outside smelled like what inside was for a full day or two, and then evaporated, I knew that the combo of the machine and the air humidifier really did what it needed to do in really good ways. In my case, i determined I had to leave the hydroxyl machine on for 5 days straight, and had to cover all door gaps with rags or such in addition to closed windows. You aren't told this clearly and have to figure all these little things out. And then, remember to not breathe this stuff in as much as you can when you do turn the machine off and try to air stuff out. You need to make sure you can air stuff out and have all these things worked out before you go through with all this so as not to f yourself over. Hydroxyl are less dangerous than ozone according to my own online research. Ozone is cheaper. So, consider your situation. The same hydroxyl or ozone machine can be used in different areas of the same place if you cannot afford one machine that will work for the entirety of your building in "one fell swoop". The effectiveness of this machine is excellent if you have everything in place, including time and energy. It might not get everything out solely because special paint needs to cover spaces that the dry wall behind it might've absorbed in, and any spots that have to be particularly cleaned such as behind light bulbs and vents, but it helps out a lot.
