I currently have my office desk and chair in a room that had relatively this carpet and the wheels that come with office chairs just do not handle it well when trying to move while seated. Once I got the new wheels on, sat down to see if I could actually live around in the chair just using my legs without the carpet causing problems - yep, I can finally move around without constantly having to stand up and lift my chair. Chair glides smoothly on the carpet and on hardwood as expected (adjacent room to me is hardwood) while being virtually silent. They did raise my seat height slightly but nothing major. I ordered 2 sets of these one for my chair one for my sons chair and we put them on man what a difference it was from the ones that the computer chairs come with it's Like night and day. So I ended up ordering another set for my other sons computer chair and he loves it these roll smoothly and they are quiet and the quality on them are great and they make the chair sit up a little bit taller to. These are great. I got them for a cheap desk chair I have and they are a game changer. These should be standard on every office chair. Those crappy casters that come with desk chairs should be illegal. These glide like you’re on ice and with virtually no sound and no damage or scuffs to the floor at all. These wheels are great! Smooth and quiet rolling. Installation was smooth and done within seconds. Note: This is my second time buying these type of wheels (but not this brand) in almost 5.5 years. The wheel swivel bearings (small metal looking balls) began falling out of my old set of wheels and leaving (removable) oil marks on my floor. I've tried several desk casters (about four different ones), including the typical plastic “gamer” ones. Truthfully, those are only gamer in name. These, on the other hand, are a different story: you can tell the quality as soon as you take them out of the packaging. I'm a fairly heavy person, and after several days of use, I can assure you that they hold up without any problems. If I had to mention something “negative,” I would say that they roll too well. They generate hardly any friction on most surfaces, which isn't bad in itself, but someone who isn't used to them might find it strange at first. I even saw a one-star review for this “problem,” and honestly, I think it's an exaggeration: in a couple of weeks, you'll be more than used to that smooth (and addictive) movement, and you won't want to go back to wheels that barely move. Besides, this isn't the fault of the wheels but of the surface; with a mat or something similar to increase friction, they're perfect. They don't make any noise, they glide smoothly, and now I can move around at night without waking up the whole family.
