This is exactly like other plastic mats you have seen to be used on carpet. It works well, sorta. I guess I expect too much from a plastic mat. It found that my wheels tended to create divots and would take a little effort to get the chair to roll out of them. My carpet is like the industrial carpet you see at work. My chair is a rolling office chair with 5 wheels. I am 5' 9" and 200 lbs. I ended up splurging ($199) on a glass mat and will never look at plastic again—perfect, smooth rolling. Be careful of the points on the bottom of the mat. VERY sharp. Not intended for hardwood floors. You should seriously consider getting someone to help you unroll this mat and set it up. Otherwise, you might discover what I mean by the points are very sharp. Read more

Great quality. It is difficult to get them unrolled. Once unrolled you will need or weight the ends down so it will flatten out. Once flat, they are great and exactly what we needed. My office chair rolls on the mat as needed. Read more

Mat came rolled up in box. Nice thick plastic that is really hard to get to lay flat. Used electric heater to make plastic mat soft enough to unroll. Still had trouble getting mat to lay flat. Took week at room temperature with weights on it to get to finally lay flat. Mat is good material but have purchased several comparable mats that do not require extensive work to get to lay flat. I a hard mat in my office to cover the carpet where I sit and use my Laptop. I recently had leg surgery which I could not move my chair on the carpet, so this worked out really well. Nice and square. I was very happe that it came flat in a box and not rolled up. I could start to use it immediately instead of waiting for it to uncurl for a day or so. Speedy delivery also. Read more

This product deserves 0 zero stars. First, it wreaks like oil as soon as you open the box. Second, they roll it up so tight that it takes four people just to get it unrolled all the way. We laid it on the driveway in the sun and put 15 pound weights on all six "points" with no success in the sun for six hours. We then tried a hair dryer with no success. The hot water method also did nothing. It has been three days of trying to get it to go flat but it still has 7 bends/ridges from where it was rolled up. Even running an office chair on it for 10 minutes didn't do anything to flatten. it. Trying to use it in my office is impossible, it jolts your back when you try to roll because the wheels get stuck on the ridges. If I could return it I would but I don't have the box anymore, what a complete and utter waste of money, this thing is TRASH. Read more

As a chair mat this one is larger than most....i got 36x72. When it comes out of box it is as stiff as a board. It took 2 days to flatten it using brute strength and 15lb barbells. One word of caution....the nibs on the bottom are very sharp! Be extra careful as you try to unroll/flatten the mat. I actually purchased this to use as the floor in our puppy's play pen. For this purpose it works great. If using it under a chair it may not be as thick as it needs to be. I think it will always have bumps and divits due to the thickness of the material. I'm taking off one star due to sharpness of the nibs and how tough it is to unroll and flatten. If i had ordered in summer i would have left it outside in the sun to loosen it up. Read more
