These markers are fantastic. Of course, being Ohuhu, they're pretty much the gold standard in alcohol markers among the coloring community right now. These are dual tips, having a brush point and a fine point. I love having the brush tip for broad strokes and larger areas. The fine point gets me into the tiny areas of the page. Ohuhus are juicy, smooth, and blend like a dream (with practice, of course). The set also included a colorless blender; it takes some practice to use it effectively, and really isn't a "blender", per se, but can give you some beautiful effects when you learn to use it (which isn't difficult!). I was just a little bit concerned, buying them from Amazon. A few colorists say that they are more dry than ordering from Ohuhu directly. When they arrived (during the winter), they were very cold from being on the truck for a while. I turned the entire bag (also included) on its side (these markers perform best hen stored horizontally), and let them rest until they warmed up. They are juicy and perform beautifully! Naturally, being alcohol markers, they do bleed a bit through the paper, so be sure to use a couple of pieces of paper or cardstock behind your coloring page, to prevent the bleed from ruining your page. Please know that this is NOT a defect; all alcohol markers do this. Ohuhu also includes a small silicone sheet that you can use behind your pages, too. It just isn't very big, so you'll either have to ALSO use paper or cardstock, or you'll have to remember to keep moving it around while you work. I really like using it, as I feel that it keeps your page from drying as quickly, allowing you longer to work and blend. One note about that silicone sheet though: you must clean it (using alcohol pads or just a cotton pad with rubbing alcohol) after every couple of pages. Otherwise, if there is ink on it and you color over said ink, it will bleed back UP onto the page you're working on (don't ask me how I know...). I am super happy with this set, and with Ohuhus in general. I will definitely be purchasing more sets, going forward! Read more
Love these alcohol markers for the beautiful array of pastel colors, ink quality and hopefully, value. Time will tell! 🤞🏽 I did buy a few open stock markers to try first before looking at the sets. The markers arrived so juicy, they splashed when uncapping, so I had tiny splots of ink everywhere on my paper, and large spots on my my fingers. The caps are easy to take off and on, which makes me wonder about the seal. Given the mid-level price point of Ohuhus, I have mid-level expectations for the ink drying out prematurely. The ink lays down very smooth, has low odor, and dries true to the shade even after several layers. Very happy with this particular set. Read more
i splurged and bought these markers as a birthday gift to myself as i’ve been loving the cocowyo coloring books over the past year & these are what they use on their instagram - very glad i did, they are so worth it!!! i’ve never used such smooth markers, they make coloring so easy and so satisfying! i will say the couple of colors i use the most (tans/browns) have started to run out of ink, probably because i use them for larger surface area parts (flooring, walls, etc), so just a warning. this kit comes with a good range of colors, most of which are pastel, but there are some that are a bit deeper. i would say they’re all fairly light though and you may want to buy a complementary kit with some more mid range/deeper colors to go with. i also highly recommend making a color key (attached), i didn’t have this for the first few months of use and quickly learned that some of the colors are NOT what you’d think they’d be (for example, “light blue” is arguably the darkest blue in the pack and does not match its cap, lol). overall, highly recommend for both hobby use and for other art projects, very high quality and beautiful colors! very fun to experiment with and keeps me busy for hours upon hours!! These alcohol pens are terrific!! All were working perfectly and not a dry one in the bunch. I love the variety of pretty pastel colors. They remind of Spring and Easter! So calming and lovely. I also like the thick barrel, which keeps my hand from cramping if I am coloring for an extended period of time. The duel tips are great! I can do a broad sweep of color for large areas and use the fine tip for more precise and small detailing. There is absolutely no odor, so no worries about getting high off the fumes! The pens come all mixed up, but part of the fun is sorting through them and creating the swatches! Overall, I am happy with my purchase. Read more
