I recently had a client where I had put a set of sheets on because I needed to do laundry, and it smelled like rancid oil, but because I was in a hurry I didn't realize how icky it smelled! Oh my gosh! I was so embarrassed . I had to change the sheets before I worked on her . I did have another set of sheets that only had an oil stain on them so I use that one. I had five sets of sheets that I had hanging out in my linen closet that I would wash every once in awhile, hoping that somehow the smell of rancid oil, would somehow disappear, but never did! I had used a product called clean sheets probably 20 years ago and had forgotten about it, so I just would buy new sheets. Well, for the cost of one set of new sheets, I bought oil be gone, and it Resurrected my sheets so that I could use them in session again. I read other reviews for this and I'm so glad I did. People are totally right, it works amazingly well! I have a HE front loader machine. I used 2 scoops the first time and it worked amazingly well and got oil out of my massage sheets that I was worried may never come out. I’ve used the powdered version of Oil Be Gone for a decade, on hot water only as directed, it’s always removed all oil drops and oil stains from jojoba oil (massages). I accidentally bought this liquid form, and used it this last month again only in hot water, it doesn’t work AT ALL, even a couple times used twice as much liquid detergent as directed, then even tried fewer sheets, then even lowered dryer temp to Low setting. The powdered form works perfectly even on high dryer temp, as long as you wash it in super hot water for at least 15 minute agitation. I had seen reviews saying the liquid “doesn’t work as well as their powder” but my sheets smelled rancid after a month using liquid, and smelled great again as soon as I got/washed in the powder again a couple days ago. I am completely impressed! I have been a massage therapist for over 30 years. I use pure unscented jojoba oil that doesn't actually go rancid. HOWEVER, it is an oil and it does build up over time in massage sheets -- mine had become noticeably heavy and stiff to the touch. There was a strongly musty oil smell that got worse when a sheet sat on the shelf without being actively used and laundered for a while. I had high hopes for Oil Be Gone, because the reviews were solid. And ... it worked! I can say that in ONE laundering (used 1/4 cup in an HE washer with 4 sets of sheets, with an extra rinse), there was about a 60% reduction in the musty oily odor, and a faint fresh whiff of a more pleasant scent. The sheets were more pliable. I dried that load, and then decided to wash it again, also with an extra rinse. Even better. What I have done to systematically revitalize all of my linens is this: 1. Wash 3-4 sets once in "sanitize" setting (extremely hot water, high spin) with NO extra rinse. HE washer, 1/4 cup. 2. Do not dry the load, but immediately: 3. Wash a 2nd time in "sanitize" setting, WITH an extra rinse. HE washer, 1/4 cup. 4. Dry the load on medium heat -- "bedding" setting on our LG HE washer. For all of my active-use linens, the intense pong is GONE. These sheets are once more plain fabric, not fabric stiff with oil. This stuff is REALLY effective at removing built-up oil residue. 100% happy, thank you. * I give Oil Be Gone 5 stars for product effectiveness. * I remove ONE star for the genuinely alarming (and appreciated) caution label on the canister, and the feeling that if I breathe too much while the product's lid is open, I will chemically burn my throat. I know that it says it is biodegradable, and has a picture of a plant on the canister, and that it is friendly to the earth, and all of that, but natural things can be just as lethal as chemical things. This caution label is IMPORTANT. We do need to be careful in how we touch, use, and breathe in this product. It uses an INTENSE oil remover, and I just can't believe that it is harmlessly and instantly biodegradable right away as the water leaves the washer and goes into your septic tank or touches a little worm's body, so for marketing efforts to gloss over how strong and (in the moment) toxic this product is, with cheery chirpy words like natural and biodegradable, there is a little ding. UPDATE: this stuff is SERIOUSLY caustic. Take care that it does not touch your skin, even dry. A small amount went on my finger, which I instantly washed off for 5 mins in cool water. I had a painful raised white bump there for 2 full days (see pic). Be cautious. SUMMARY: This product is a strong combination of natural chemicals that work -- use it carefully. A hearty 4 stars. This stuff really works incredibly well I was surprised. But you have to make sure you are using the right amount of water and product for what you are washing in order for the stain to come out. You need to understand your stain and the fabric too. And never put in dyer if you feel stain is still there. First soak in solution if need to and then add. Armen Hammer laundry detergent with it and wash and it is awesome! Read more

Ive been looking for quite some time to find something that can pull the oils from the sheets I use for massage, but have had little success until now. This powder has made such a difference even after just one or two washes, and more so if you massage it in and let them soak.
