Super easy to put together, heavy duty plastic, very secure on shower head arm. I have had metal that rusts, yuk, painted metal that chips, yuk and here I am back with plastic. This is a very nice caddy with plenty of space for large and smaller items, bar soap holder, wash cloth hooks and an extra container for razors etc., separate from the main shelves.
