The chews are so hard that they have to be soaked in water for a small dog to eat them - messy to boot. This was 1st purchase of chews so will have to wait for a period of time to see results of the product claims on the label that it “promotes a vibrant, beautiful coat, wholesome skin, improves coat vitality while providing benefits for heart health, helps control shedding, & supplements help support a healthy immune system.” Will update on results of these claims. Late spring, early summer my miniature poodle starts scratching like crazy. Last few seasons I was giving him antihistamines and washing him with medicated shampoo. Did not seem to do the trick. This season, I stopped giving him the antihistamine and started adding a little olive oil in his food. I now use a very nice anti-itch, over the counter, shampoo...and, I added daily dosage of Coco Luna's Skin & Coat supplement. I honestly really love the results from these and my dog is obsessed with them! I have a 2 year old cocker spaniel and he has probably the worst skin a dog could have. I really wanted these to work for my pup’s skin and coat issues, but unfortunately, he refuses to eat them. He’ll sniff, maybe give a tentative lick, then gag—no matter how I disguise them. I’ve tried hiding them in food, peanut butter, even crumbling them—he still regurgitates. The ingredients seem great on paper, and I appreciate the thoughtful blend of fish oil, cod liver oil, and algae. But if your dog is picky or sensitive to smell/texture, these might be a tough sell.
