Joseph c.January 18, 2022

Great game graphics were decent keeping in mind the limitations of console gaming due to the fact the new technology isn't being utilized yet waiting for a response from the seller and I will update the review later the game is nearly broken it needs a glitch fix as of now you can't progress in the game as far as upgrading to better trucks you can't level Up due to this current glitch but this happens with all new games hopefully it won't be 6 months away the game has great bones to work with i just have to keep deleting the game and start over each day as you can't progress have fun with it till the update as of now I'm keeping it however it Would be nice if the seller would contact the game developer how about it seller???? With a 2022 Update for PS5, On the Road is a fun simulator for Trucking

ThunderHawkApril 11, 2022

With a 2022 Update for PS5, On the Road is a fun simulator for Trucking fans. The most recent update as of April 2022, fixes some issues that were affecting the game in a couple big ways, but more on that later. First, the Pros: +Open world, giant landscape, freeways that take hours to travel on all routes. +Full day/night cycle. You have the ability to rest in your truck to speed up time. Rest is needed per day. +Choose your own jobs, routes, multiple runs, types of products to be transported. +You can transport animals to other locations, and have to board pigs onto your trailer. +You can get out of your truck at any time, go on foot for about a mile before you can't walk further. +On Foot, you can fuel your truck, free roam up to a mile from your truck, attach/detach your trailer, set up the cargo bay doors, adjust some mechanics like detaching the trailer. +4K visuals, 60 fps (though variable frame rate sometimes) on PS5 +Lots of options to adjust +Tachometer to switch from Driving to Rest mode, required each day. +Customizable vehicles, save to buy new trucks, trailers, gear, paint, logos, etc. +You can drive your truck with no trailer and just drive around freely. +Fueling is required. Fuel lasts a long time if you're careful. You refill manually at gas stations you find. +Radio station is limited, but has interesting pop music songs cycling through. +Pedestrians walk the streets, lots of traffic, cities, buildings, parks. +Lots of extensive roads and freeways to travel. Traffic lights, stop signs. Turn indicator control. +Sometimes you can find spots to roam on foot through the forests. +Reset your vehicle as needed if it tips over. +Teaches careful driving to protect cargo, avoid other vehicles, follow road rules, stay awake during long, extensive travel on freeways that can lull the driver into a trance if they're not careful. +Earn money to advance your company and build up with extra drivers, etc. +You can look around in your truck while driving or parked. +Interior dash view, and 3rd person truck view. +It rains sometimes. You can switch on your windshield wipers. +Lights off/on, high beams, fog lights (but no fog), horn, adjustable steering, seat adjustment, etc. Some negatives could include: -Auto-save as only save method. -On foot, you can walk through moving traffic and pedestrians. -On foot, sometimes you might get stuck behind a guardrail if you walked over it. -There is no jump button or climb button if your character gets stuck behind a guardrail. -Pop in of vehicles noticeable on freeways. -+Cargo cost penalties can be strict if you're not driving carefully, but that's also a plus for realism. -Graphics are decent, but very basic and generic. -In 3rd person truck mode, there is no driver visible for your vehicle. -On foot is only in 1st person view. -Needs more 3rd person truck views and better angles. The camera is a bit unruly, untamed in 3rd person. -Traffic jams never get resolved if there is a collision of two vehicles. -No police in the game. Overall, On the Road is a MUCH needed first array into freeway truck driving, while also giving you a fun simulation of what it's like to manage your daily truck driving tasks. The game really nicely requires you to hop out of your truck to prepare your trailer to be unloaded or loaded with goods. Backing up is a true to life challenge and can take many attempts when learning. A really nice simulation for this developer's first attempt despite some flaws. Finally, the update of April 2022 fixes a few key issues, including greatly reducing a blinking/flashing background in the distance with disappearing/reappearing scenery/buildings due to rendering limitations. This has been fixed in a major way, though left or right you may notice some remnants of blinking scenery in the distance, but nothing like it was, which was extremely distracting. Better now. Plus some new improvements in smaller ways including visuals and some options. For truck driving fans, this is a fun, relaxing simulation game that has a lot of potential if this developer sticks with it and improves with future games in the series. A good, decent first start and a nice option for truck driving freedom. Read more
