Bears in underwear and yaks with snacks are just a couple of the adorable rhymes in this cute/funny book about sharing! My 3 year old adores this book for the funny words (and mention of underwear) and the counting (he's very into numbers) and I enjoy the good rhyming scheme and catchy rhythm of the text. The artwork is cute and cartoony. The "moral" is about sharing but the story isn't forceful or heavy handed with the message; rather it's a matter of the other animals seeing the pigs have more fun sharing and choosing to try it themselves. As a parent who doesn't force sharing, I appreciate the gentle message. It's an easy one to read again and again! Read more

I would read this book every night to my daughter at bedtime if she would let me. It is super fun and just flows off the tongue. This might sound silly but the pages turn very easily. I think that's important for a fun, rhyming book that you can read at a quick pace. I'd love if the author had more books like this! Read more

Since getting the book in the mail, my 2 and 4 year old can't put it down! Gehl's creative play with words and humor combined with the adorable illustrations make this book not only a favorite for the little ones, but also fun for grown-ups. This delightful picture book arrived just in time! Although my own kids are grown and gone (and have not yet produced any offspring), I like to keep a few children’s books at hand in case a friend comes by with a grandchild or two. A day after I acquired “Underwear” a two year old came to my house, dragging in her tired grandma. After I managed to wrestle the little girl onto my lap, I started reading her this delightful rhyming book. The wonderful rhythm of the words and the adorable illustrations were a big hit. We didn’t actually finish the book, because she always wanted to go back to the previous page to see what had happened before. She allowed grandma to take her home only after I promised to read the book again on her next visit. Definitely a winner! Read more

My 4-year-old twin boys are really loving this book! It's a great one to read again and again because it definitely takes a few pages for the kids to realize the trend of one animal getting left out on each page. Once my kids figured out what was happening, I saw them counting and doing the math, and they were squealing and giggling when the animals were sharing at the end in the funniest of ways.
