Since it's a considerable gamble when you buy shoes online, I'm actually kind of shocked how great these booties are. I'm an average 7 1/2 M and chose my regular size. They fit perfectly. From the moment I tried them on, they are so incredibly comfortable in every way. The leather is nice and they are sturdy. They're simple, sleek and classy, exactly what I wanted. The packaging could have been a bit better as the shoe box was placed in an Amazon plastic mailer bag and the box arrived a bit smushed in transit but luckily there was no damage to the shoes. I was skeptical buying these boots, especially considering the one month shipping timeframe. But they were well worth the wait. They are very high-quality, very comfortable and exactly what I was looking for (A quality ankle boot with a zipper on the inseam rather than all of the elastic on both sides of the ankle, which is the norm boot off offered). Based on the Amazon product image, I thought these were going to be made from a pebbly, textured leather. When they arrived, I was disappointed to discover they're just classic ultra-smooth and shiny leather. The leather itself looks thick and sturdy so I suspected they'd be pretty unyielding (never a good option for my ultra-wide, messed up feet) but after wearing them for a day, they proved to be both reasonably supple and super comfortable. They're pretty basic - rounded toe, medium width toe box, side zipper and low heel. I'd say they run slightly large. In a perfect world, I wear an 8.5W but if I can't get a wide width, I size up to 9. These size 9M fit me looser than expected, but not bad. And if you have thick ankles (like me), the shaft is extremely wide, meaning they won't pinch your legs nor will the zipper creep down. As a matter of fact, I found them to be almost too wide. My ankles were swimming around in there. If you're looking for a basic minimal ankle-boot, you can't go wrong with these. Read more
