I’ve been using this OOU 7 inch Santoku knife for everyday prep work, and it has quickly become one of the most comfortable and well balanced knives in my kitchen. The stainless steel handle has a smooth, ergonomic shape that fits naturally in the hand, and the full tang construction gives it a solid, confident feel without being overly heavy. The weight distribution is excellent, making it easy to control whether you’re slicing vegetables, or working through more delicate cuts. The blade arrives extremely sharp and it moves through food with very little resistance. The black coating gives the knife a sleek appearance and adds another level of protection that keeps the blade looking clean even after repeated use. The steel itself feels durable and holds its edge well, which is important for a knife that sees daily chopping and slicing. The 27 step grinding process seems to pay off in terms of smooth cutting performance and reduced drag, especially when working with ingredients like onions, peppers, or boneless meats. In terms of value, this knife offers a lot for the price. The materials feel premium, the construction is solid, and the overall performance is impressive for a mid‑range kitchen knife. It comes in a nice gift box, which makes it suitable for gifting, though it would have been even better if it included a protective sleeve for the blade. Even without that, the knife stands out for its comfort, sharpness, and overall build quality. It’s a great addition to any kitchen and earns a full five stars for its balance of performance and craftsmanship. Read more

I am very satisfied with the Santoku OOU black blade knife. Since I use it in my kitchen, it has replaced several knives I had - its edge is very sharp and allows precise cuts without effort, whether they are vegetables, meat or fish. The black sheet not only has a modern and elegant style, but also seems to help food not to stick so much when cutting. The ergonomics of the handle are very good; it feels firm and comfortable in the hand, which allows you to work for longer without fatigue. The quality of the steel is remarkable: so far it keeps the edge very well and looks resistant to daily use. Cleaning is also simple (although I always recommend washing by hand to preserve it better). Read more

This knife is both attractive and very well made. It feels comfortable and well balanced in the hand, and the blade is incredibly sharp; easily the sharpest knife I own. I was able to slice an orange and an apple paper-thin with no effort; it glided through smoothly with zero resistance. We do a lot of cutting and chopping of fruits and vegetables, and this knife will be a great addition to our kitchen. Being made of high-carbon stainless steel, it should hold its edge well over time and resist rust. The packaging is also very attractive, making it a nice gift option. My only minor disappointment is that it didn’t include a protective sleeve or cover. Even a simple cardboard sheath would have been appreciated. That said, for the quality, sharpness, and overall performance at this price point, you really can’t go wrong. Read more

This Santoku has quickly become my go-to, all-around utility knife in the kitchen. The 15° edge is impressively sharp and makes everyday prep veggies, meat, fish, fast and controlled without feeling delicate. I really like the Cerablack finish; it looks great and actually helps keep the blade cleaner during use. The steel holds its edge well, and cleanup is easy, even tossing it in the dishwasher when I’m short on time. If you want one reliable knife that can handle just about everything without fuss, this one delivers. Read more
