Opalescence Whitening Toothpaste Original Formula Pack of 12 - Oral Care Mint Flavor Gluten Free - 4 7

I had picked up a tube of (recommended) Opalesence at my dentist’s office after my last cleaning. A tad expensive @$10+ for the tube, but I wanted to maintain my fresh-looking teeth between visits. I justified the price since my hygienist informed me that not a lot has to be dispensed onto the toothbrush, and I was only going to use it at night to scrub off the day’s yuckies. Well, that first tube lasted 2-3 months and I turned to Amazon to purchase some more. I became concerned when I could not locate the same “Opalescence” tube from the dentist’s. The only name I was finding was “Opal”. I thought that, surely, Opal must be a less-effective, non-professional strength version of the Opalesence. NOT SO! In researching the manufacturer’s website, the ingredients are exactly the same: (in the same order and listing the same concentrations): Opal Active Ingredients: Potassium Nitrate 5% w/w (Antihypersensitivity), Sodium Fluoride 0.25% w/w (Anticavity) Inactive Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Silica, Xylitol, Glycerin, Sorbitol, Poloxamer 407, Methyl Salicylate (flavor), Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Carbomer, Cool Mint Flavor, FD&C Blue #1 (CI 42090), FD&C Yellow #5 (CI 19140), Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Hydroxide, Sucralose, Wintermint Flavor, Xanthan Gum Opalesence Active Ingredients: Potassium Nitrate 5% w/w (Antihypersensitivity), Sodium Fluoride 0.25% w/w (Anticavity) Inactive Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Silica, Xylitol, Glycerin, Sorbitol, Poloxamer 407, Methyl Salicylate (flavor), Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Carbomer, Cool Mint Flavor, FD&C Blue #1 (CI 42090), FD&C Yellow #5 (CI 19140), Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Hydroxide, Sucralose, Wintermint Flavor, Xanthan Gum Assured that I was, in fact, buying the identical toothpaste, and finding it cheaper using the Subscribe and Save option, I ordered the 3-pack. (The expiration dates on the tubes was at least 2 years — plenty of time in which to use it up.) I use it nightly with my Sonicare brush and absolutely LOVE the taste and effect of this stuff! I am using the ‘Sensitive’ version and have experienced no issues or weird mouth sores like with some other whitening pastes I’ve tried in the past. Although I’m set-up for the Amazon subscription, I keep my eyes peeled for it — and have found it —on Daily Deals and Prime Day offerings as well since the use-by dates are generous. Toothpaste whiteners do not drastically whiten teeth, regardless of brand name. Accepting that limitation, subtle lightening is occurring. Mulling over whether to start brushing my teeth 3 times a day to speed up the process as much as possible. Do like the flavor of these compared to the standard brands found in grocery stores. I used this brands whitening trays in the past with success so decided to use their toothpaste. Tastes like the lifesavers mints. It does help with whitening and removing stains. I will continue to use this product. Read more
